My air conditioner fan makes an annoying rattling sound that gets more annoying as the fan speed is turned up. I'm about to take it in for scheduled maintenance, and will mention this to the service guy.

Anyone else have this problem?

not quite mine is the compressor it makes a noise like someone is slamming a door shut when it kiks on and off

yup..also hear a weird clicking noise coming from the dash..

Mine does the same. The fan motor is being replaced under warrantee. I'll let you know how it goes when the work is completed.

Yeah I'm getting it sometimes as well. Its not too bad and I'm waiting for it to get predictable so I can take it in and have the service guys hear it too! I kringe at the thought of having to open up the dash to get to it. Might fix one noise only to add others in the process.

Interesting: The same thing's happening on my wife's '03 Aviator. It burps, gurgles and f*rts. The guys at the dealership say they're waiting for a fix, but don't think there's anything to worry about. If she shuts the AC off a few seconds before turning off the engine, or has the engine running before turning the AC on, there's no noise. I haven’t noticed my Marauder doing it, but then, it's only a week old.
BTW, we have an '04 Mach 1 with a 5sp and that's not doing it, assuming they're using the same compressor. Could it be a vacuum issue, or perhaps only on the '03's & not '04's, and they've fixed it but won't tell?

I get this too - every now and then. Not always, but it's noticeable some.
