My '03 MM with 2200 miles lost 3rd gear and overdrive. The overdrive light on the dash flashes on and off, the Check Engine light is on and I read code 0755 "Shift Solenoid B Malfunction". Anybody have any suggestions on anything I can check before having the dealer tear into the tranny?

Thanks,
MMManic

Just take it (or tow it) in. No questions asked.

A shift solenoid going bye bye would certainly explain it... :) Just take it in, they'll be able to fix it without issue.

Manic:

One thing you can try first is to unplug and re-seat the electrical connectors on the side of the trans...

I don't have the manual in front of me, but I believe there are 2 shift solenoids, both of which are easily accessible by removing the pan, so hopefully it won't be a major deal either way.

Don't try to play with it. Just have the dealer repair the Tranny. I had the same problem a couple of months ago. I was in and out of the shop within a couple of days. Remember to restore to factory settings before you take the car in if you are modified. :pimp:

Oh...transmissions....

I thought this was a thread about the story I heard of Marty's trip to Amsterdam....:D ;) :P

Have it fixed under warranty. The connectors wouldn't have come loose, unless you unplugged them recently. I'd say there's a strong chance that the famous C-Clip came off and allowed the Mechanical Diode to come out of place. That clip is only rated for 6,000rpm shaft speed.
