I took the subwoofer out and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a replacement connector - that way I can use the factory wiring for power/ground to my new subwoofer (dont worry, its small - there is enough room on the circuit for it)...

any ideas whree to get a replacement connector so I dont have to cut?

Why not splice into the subs connector and reattach? Some custom sound shops have that kinda stuff though too...

I dont want to mess up the connector... I'm either going to sell the entire factory system (inc. sub) and it should have the connector then, or keep it and reinstall if I ever sell the car...

Check Wal-Mart, as stupid as that may sound... I KNOW I've seen connectors of all types up there.

nope... no normal radio place is going to have it. Walmart didnt... I'm looking for an acctuall part number of the connector - I have the # thats for the connector in the car (F06089) but not the male version. Then I'm going to see if somehow Ford sells these things... I doubt it though... oh well, I might just have to use my taps...

or... does anyone have a busted/broken/fried subwoofer they would want to part with? More specifically, just the cable that is taped into the groove on there, with the connectors on it?

Andrew10AE,

I know here in MD we have a Ford radio repair and sales center. Grab the Phone Book you might find such a place in your area. Just a thought.

It's been a while since I've been there but I think the name of the place is Monahan Auto Radio Service. They used to be in Gaithersburg but I think they are now in Frederick MD.

There are companies that run around to the dealers and repair radios for them. (at least they did when I was in the Parts game)
In Allentown, PA one company is H&R Auto Radio Service 610-797-4791.
Hope it helps.

Connectors and the tooling required to install them are a real issue. I looked around on the net for some harness makers that are not OEM types. I found one at http://www.painlessperformance.com. I didn't go any further with it. Maybe they can help or point you towards someone that can. Let us know how you make out.
