The MN F-body club is hosting it's third annual Performance Driving Experience (PDE) at Brainerd International Raceway. :banana2: The date is Monday August 2nd.

This is a great chance to run around the 3.1 mile road course in a very low pressure setting with professional instruction. It is a non timed event, as safety and fun are the first priority. The event is open to all vehicles that pass a simple tech inspection and drivers of any ability. We strive to provide the most track time for the dollar and some guys run over 200 miles on the track. I usually get about 100 miles.

As an added bonus, there is going to be cheap drag racing in the evening for $30 after the road course is done around 4-4:30 pm. :D We have the track to ourselves all day, until 8:30pm!

Please check out our Event website (http://www.mnfbody.com/pde_04/what_is_it/index.html) or the message board. (http://www.mnfbody.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21) I will also try to answer any questions. The tech day is July 24th, so act fast to drive fast.

This is open to all drivers and all cars! It is also FREE to come up and watch, as well as get to jump in and go for some rides with others. yeah, FREE.

Thank's for the invite. I don't know if I can make it as I will be out in Indy that weekend but I am going to look into it anyway.

Sounds like a bunch of fun,

It is the most fun I have ever had in a car. Everyone loves to see the big land yacht on the road course, so I know the MM would be well received! Just think about that straight..... over a mile long! This is geared more to beginners and enthusiasts with mild prepped cars, with a few well prepped cars thrown in too. We have had Impalas, Wagons, Subarus, Hondas, Vettes, Mustangs, and I think we may see a Lightning this year.

It is a very low pressure event (you will have butterflies the first few laps!), and the instructors will ride with you or even drive your car as part of the learning curve. Everyone is required to attend a short classroom session to go over the basics and safety requirements.

Hopefully, we can get the radar gun set up again to display the top speeds on the board. The Z06's would hit about 147mph at the end of the straight every time.

I would love to see some MM show up, so I hope you can make it!

Now you definately have my attention. I will see what I can do to make it and will plan on getting the inspection Saturday. :burnout:

Cool! As a good measure, at least do a complete flush of the brake fluid. As it ages and accumulates moisture, it's boiling temp drops dramatically. :( I have started flushing the brakes annually, now. Other than that, have some good pads (over 50%), tight front end, and a helmet.

That is all I usually do, plus a good once over of the car. With yours being relatively new, you should have no problems.

Awe, come on. It's practically on your way home from Indy ;)

It's just a couple hours north of the Twin Cities and I-35 comes right through here.

Just a short detour, Logan. :stupid:

Feel free to cross post this to other forums and messge boards. We like to have a wide variety of cars! It makes for good pictures, videos and DVD's.

Unfortunately I got back for Indy late last night and could not make it up to BIR.

After MVII I am really in the mood to take her out full throttle somewhere too.

What a great time. 125+ miles on the road course, 125mph on radar, and turned a 14.1x @95.x at the end of the day. It don't get any better.

That was one of the MN F-body club members car. A 1993 Z28 that ran 151 mph on radar. There was also a 1998 Corvette that did 150 mph.

Very cool..... :coolman:

Wish I could have made it. My car did do several runs to 140+ on the dyno though :) And that was in 3rd gear ;)

Glad you had fun and keep us posted. One of these days I will make it out to play.

HEADS UP! :banana2:

It looks like there will be another day this month, August 23rd. We are still ironing out the details, but it looks like a go.

$150 for the day, no lunch and probably a few less instructors. This is a special offer for the MN F-body club and our friends. :burnout: Some more info is here..... (http://www.mnfbody.com/showthread.php?t=5044)

Any interest? :D
