Ok, my question, like everyone else's will be. When will the box come out, and should we wait to get the full kit? That is a really great price tho. Cant wait to get the kit.

So, does this mean that you are taking orders now ?
Does it have to be a minimum order placed before you start making them ? :depress:
I'm ready to place my order if so.... Thanks.

Looking at it, I see this one doesn't have the "sink-trap"-looking piece that hangs down under the stock unit. What does that "sink-trap" do, anyway? And will the absence of it mean a hp gain?
And I second everybody else's appreciation of it...even if it doesn't really add anything in terms of power, it still looks great! That's three items I'm gonna need to get from you guys now... :bows:

That sure does look great.
Sorry, I have to ask: It looks fantastic compared to the stock unit, but other than being a sturdier, better fitting unit, does it have any other benefits performance wise?
And what else is coming with it later? An air filter box?
Thanks as usual for information. :)

I am also going to ask this question?? What the heck is that "sink-trap"-looking piece that hangs down anyway.

There are several threads here that will give you more detailed info on your described 'sink-trap-thingy"...although I'd suggest other words for a Search to find them...i.e. "J-snorkle" seemed popular at one point, I think..
First of all the OEM "sink-trap-thingy" is supposed to be an "intake silencer". Second, going back...WAY back...many here had removed their "intake silencer" (there is in fact a REAL funny thread somewhere talking about a particular Skippy Peanut Butter lid being the "optimum part")...
Third...it has never been proven that removing the "sink-trap-thingy" from the intake does ANYTHING for performance.
But...smoother, cleaner flowing intake is ALWAYS a plus in performance, from what I've leaned from the best wrenches around...we'll have plenty of before/after Dyno numbers on these from the Atlanta group for those of you wanting to ride the fence for now....

It's the intake silencer... Basically, it's just there to quite the engine down, a bit - without it, you would hear a sucking noise, at WOT.
Some remove it - I doubt there is any performance gain / loss associated with it...

I think the 'J' snorkle/'sink trap' is a noise attenuator. It was the first mod I made on my MM...REMOVED IT! Then slipped in a K&N filter. I don't think that its removal helps your HP, but the intake looks 100% better.

they are ready to order just give me a call will ship after marauderville or if you are going there you can pick one up there for the same price.and the snorkle on the side is an air silencer thats all it does.as far as power increase there might be a small increase but it definitly smoothes out the air going into the throttlebody.second thing filter shroud will be coming next month this piece will fit in conjunction with the intake tube. price will not change from where it is so you can buy the tube now and get the rest later.aaron:banana:

The Sink Trap you are referring to is a Resonance Eliminator for lack of a better name.
All it does is reduce the sound of the intake, when you drop your right foot on the accelerator.
I've already taken mine off and replaced it with a 2" Pipe Cap painted flat black.
