Hey to all in this forum...
Hello from the Jersey Shore here. I too have hopped on and purchased a Marauder. I always believed in Chevy, but after test-driving the Marauder, I owned it two days later. Hell-of-a-ride!!! Chevy has left us out cold. I am more happy with this car than any chevy I have ever owned.
Thumbs up to the guys who post here. Everyone seems pretty cool and very helpful. I am very interested in starting to upgrade the car. My eye is really caught on this chip that is available. Can someone who has the time respond to this and let me know the pros and cons of installing one of these? It seems from what I have read here that it is not to difficult to install. Would like to hear from someone who has the chip installed and might have some feedback to help me make up my mind. Thanks to all who can reply.

Welcome aboard, MMpridenjoy! I, too, will be happy when the General gets over this front-drive 3.8 V6 trend they're in currently. :depress:

Welcome aboard,
I found the chip easy to install. Follow the instructions posted on this site, not the ones that come with the chip. and make sure you clean all the blue stuff off the contacts the first time. (or you will be taking it out again, I speak from experience). The combination I have now makes the car meet my expectations for performence. Next, headers, exhaust and air intake.

Very cool Ray, did you get the chip from Reinhardt? How much did it run you and what kind of performance increase do you think it got you? Thanks

I did all the mods at the same time, so its difficult to say which gave me the most bang for the buck. The chip plugs and stat where about 350 and the 4.10's where $400 installed. Once it was done I could burn the tire off the line with out using the break. The 4.10's add about 300 rpm at 70 miles per hour in overdrive, and give instant power when you punch it. The car dances like your on cam all the time.

Sweet Ray, Your ride sounds pretty damn mean. I am thinking the best way to answer all my questions is to get in touch with Reinhart and just go for it.

Welcome aboard, pridenjoy...
I too was a Chevy man until it was time for a new car in late '93...NO ONE made anything I liked, so I came over to the dark side and bought my first Ford ('94 T-bird SC). Of course after I bought it, then I discovered the Impala SS... D'OH! And, of course, before I could buy one the damn fools stop making it. So here I am with my MM and I couldn't be happier...

Welcome to the dark side... or the light side... I don't remember. Anyway, you're on the other side of the fence now. Isn't our grass SO much greener? :D

Welcome MMpridenjoy !
I just got done chipping my car over lunch hour today. It is very easy to do and makes a huge difference. It wakes the beast up and changes the shift points. I haven't decided on the rear end change as I am pretty happy now. Follow the directions that are here on the board and you will have no problem. I can't stop smiling every time I drive this thing. I have had it 10 days and the boys here says it gets better with mileage. Good luck, welcome and enjoy your MM.

"When's someone gunna pop for the chrome rocker/b-pillar/wheel lip accents?"
LML...come over here, son, you need a slap.
I forgot who asked this now, but my "package" from Reinhart included a two stage chip with switch (on and off), FMC Motorsports 4:10 gear set, FMC 180 stat and FMC AWSF-A12C plugs. Delivered to my door in 3 days, UPS, for $583.
Best dayum coins I ever dropped...

Wolfe... You know...John Eagle can install you a set of 4.10's all in for less than $600... You think you have a grin on your face with just a chip? Your jaw will hurt from smiling so much with the 4.10's... :)
Welcome aboard. And leave us Chevy guys alone, just kidding. :D
Glad to see another tri-state area car.
There may be a trip to Atco on Sunday if anyone is interested?

MMPridenjoy........RF Overlord and Sarge have already hooked you up I see with the man......Dennis Reinhardt. Chip, plugs, stat and shipping is $ 378. Dennis can also sell you the 410 gears if your ready to pop for them now. He does need to know rear end gear your using before he burns chip. If you change at a later date after chip install he only charges $75 for a reburn.

Geez... don't know when I'm kidding YET?!?! Only thing I'd be chroming on my car is the dot matrix stuff! I save all the chrome for my 5000lb+ beasts (the Lincolns for those who can't figure that one out...)!
