This summer mine has started making a bit of a thunk when the AC engages. I think it might be the electric clutch that engages the compressor. I'm going to have my L/M dealership look at it after MVII.

Mrsteamrope had hers replaced last week. It seams the clutch was shimmed a little to loose, but still within tolerances. The chirps and bangs went away, and she seems to be a lot happier with her car.

How strange is this I have the same problem and CarFixer is in Detroit on his way to Indy.My Dealer(Stu Evens)tells me this is "Normal" I have only 2,500miles so far so I won`t throw this in there faces until after Indy. What kills me is I never had a problem at Ford when I had my LX Sport. No matter how stupid the question they would look at it but at Stu Evens the very first time I go there they insult me even when I know what the problem is.Oh ya the "chirp" is the same pitch as a male Cardinal and you can`t miss it if your an owner. :fire:
