View Full Version : How do I make it STOP???

I am ready to start ripping wires out of the dash to get the seatbelt dinger to stop dinging! I am old enough to police myself on wearing a seatbelt, and I don't need a freaking buzzer to remind me every time that it's not fastened.
Sitting in a drive thru, I remove my seatbelt to grasp my wallet, and DING-DING-DING-DING-DING! Or sitting in a cool park, eating a quick lunch in your nice air-condidioned car, you must leave the seatbelt fastened or you will be enlightened with a delightful DING-DING-DING-DING-DING! It even does it if the front seat passenger removes his seat belt for any unknown reason..... It is driving my nucking futz!
How do I disable this automated police attendant? Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I dont have my owners manual handy, but there is a section on disabling the "belt minder" feature. It involves inserting the key, turning it a dozen times within 30 seconds and a couple of other circus tricks to turn it off.

Okay, that's wierd. I think it worked! My owners manual says to buckle & then unbuckle the seatbelt within 50 seconds of the seatbelt light going off. Kinda crazy, but we'll see if my car is now de-policed! Thanks fer the tip! I would've never thought to look in the owners manual for de-activation of that thing!

Don't forget to get out of the car after the ignition key has been inserted, run around it three times, get back in the car, hit the horn 4 times, hit the trunk lid opener button twice, turn on the radio, roll down the passenger side window, run out and open your mailbox, and ring your doorbell three times. BTW, all this has to be done within 30 seconds of installing the key. :D

No great loss. The reputation system was being used by a few to prop up each other and to bash others for their politics or views on non-marauder topics.
I don't know what happened to it, but I certainly don't miss it.

I neither agree nor disagree w/your statements concerning the reputation system we've had here. It sounds like this is a sore subject w/you for some reason. However, whether that is or isn't the case, the fact of the matter is that I was merely joking when I wrote that post that you've so graciously quoted. It was merely a joke. That's all.

I have completed my seatbelt chime mod...
I have a used Kilt and a pair of red pumps (size 10) for sale now.
The pumps punctured the beachball, but I'm sure a tire plug will fix it.
Best offer. (I'm keeping the jacket for future mods) :o
.....but at least the damn chimes quit!

Ok these instructions must be for the 03 as they don't work for my 04. Yet neither do the instructions in the manual for the 04 work.
Key off.
lights off
Set parkng brake.
Tranny in park.
All belts unbuckled.
Turn ignition on but don't start car
wait untill seat belt light goes off
within 60 seconds do the following
buckle unbuckle seat belt 3 times
turn on headlamps
turn off headlamps
buckle unbuckle seat belt 3 times
after light goes back on for 3 seconds you have 7 seconds to buckle and unbuckle seat belt 1 time.
tried it 9 times including turning the headlamp switch to parking lights only and all the way to headlamps.

This was an irritating problem I had on my 97' CVPI, Not just the seatbelt thing but, lights on, or key in ignition. One day a guy I know said cut the blue wire. I said "blue wire"? He worked for the Miss Highway Patrol maintenance shop and went on to explain that in the drivers side kick panel there was a bundle of wires. He said cut the blue wire, not dark blue, not light blue, not blue with stripes just the blue wire. I did. It worked. When my 02' CVPI came in I did the same thing. It worked again. I don't know about the maruader. I may work or not. It could blow up! Now if I can figure out the dinger on my new 05' yukon. HA!

JeremyJust remember never to disconnect the battery without supplying 12V to pin 32 of your PCM blue connector (HC) or the whole disable function memory will be lost as well as the disable feature. It will require a factory download program for the PCM to restore it. You can buy the J-Tool for this from J-Tool Inc. for $49.95 on line, or just have the battery serviced at your dealership. Don't forget to remind the service advisor for any electrical repairs as well so they know to prevent your new program loss.

Is there a similar medecine for the automatic doorlock activated when you put it in gears ? This is bothering me also, especially when i'm taxiing my daugher friends : they sometimes almost panic in the back if i forget to unlock after being in gears.

LordVader,
You can't lock your keys in your Marauder accidentally.
If you don't believe me, try it out...
Put the Ign key in the Ignition, lock the doors, and see if you can close
the door before the locks unlock themselves.
The only way to LOCK the keys in the Marauder is to use the Remote
or press the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons after closing the door.
