OK...im really having a hard time with this. I am split between chip & gears, or chip & dr cobra complete exhaust. Im ready to go, but will do one way or the other. Which way to go, and why?

I'd go chip and gears. The gears will help it get out of the hole better.

Just my opinion though.

There is a few of us here who did thing backwards, please learn from this?

While the DR Cobra exhaust system produces remarkable performance, it does so by building on the power that is present. Therefore, on a bone stock MM, any exhaust mod won't shine with its full potential until the engine has problems breathing. In fact, you may actually lose power in the low end torque spectrum, for the time being.

Since it's torque that moves the car, you don't want to do this mod just yet. Your mod money is better spent in developing power from the base tuning right now. Programming and gears do exactly that, so, you're best bang for the buck right now is software (chip, or, SCT hand held programmer) and the gears.

This will "swoosh" your butt, and your base performance numbers. You'll know, immediately and exactly, why you spent these bucks. Installing/upgrading any exhaust components on a bone stock MM will not give you that input. Your performance benefit from exhaust will come on slowly and be there in the end tally, yes. But, you won't get the seat of the pants thrill from spending the money on the mod.

IMHO, save your coins until you feel the engine needs to breath more, you'll know when that time comes. And by then, you'll have a lot more working for you that will benefit greatly from any exhaust mod.

Just my .02C...

I'm not much for words, so here's my attempt at convincing you:

My stock Rauder ran a best of 15.15.
Chip & 4.10's dropped it to consistent 14.10's...

Take that for whatever it's worth...
