First time in the black beast. I got pulled over in Ridgewood, NJ (where the limit is 25 in the WHOLE TOWN). In the part of the town where all the younger kinds hang out (14-20). (i'm 18) I kinda burned out from a traffic light, and chirped my tires, and spun around another intersection with a traffic light then i see an interceptor tailing me. so i went in the fastest direction towards another town so he wont have any jurisdiction. he lighted me up, and i stopped, then he called another cop in. i told him i was having a "rough night." hehe, i had my front windows down and had 5% tint on the back half, so he's like: do ya have tints on the front here?.....i pulled them up and said no, he's like, "good man". he ended up givin me a break, but i showed him my State police badge (which prolly got me out of it) and he took it away. he said to call the state police guy i know and ask him to get it back.....dammit. i didn't even have my detector with me. oh well....now i can't say that i never got pulled over before. it's funny, i've been CLOCKED going 55 in a 25 in a neighboring town TWICE, and the cops never did anything....ever....even on the parkway....it's weird.....i just had to vent. -shawn
OH yeah. btw, he SAID i was doing 40 in 25.

Are you actually a State Police Officer or do you just carry the badge to play make believe???????????????
Let me see if I have this right...
You're 18, driving a Marauder "in the part of the town where all the younger kinds hang out", exhibition of acceleration at one light, "spun around another intersection with a traffic light" at another light, you saw the officer's vehicle and tried to evade ("so i went in the fastest direction towards another town so he won't have any jurisdiction"), impersonated an officer ("but i showed him my State police badge")...which turns out to belong to a friend(?), and you were speeding in this instance and you admit to doing it twice before in another town? Does that about sum it up? Just checking....but please let me know which parts I may have gotten wrong. If I have incorrectly assumed any of the above information, I will make corrections as needed.
That being said...I would NOT have given you a break if I had pulled you over. My hand would be tired from writing citations...to say the least. Not sure about NJ, but the impersonating an officer trick you pulled would have gotten you a ride in my squad car to the station. That's a 3rd degree felony...not to mention the Class B Misdemeanor you would have gotten, at the very least, for the evading. You might want to re-think your actions before your next encounter with law enforcement.

Boy, your 18 and own a Marauder. Don't let James know this he might be a little jealous of you. After MVII and seeing him he's dying for one.

If he were a son of mine...he wouldn't be able to drive or sit down for about... let's say a month....not for what he says he did, but just for lying about it.

State Police Badge?
Yeah, right!
He would have dragged you in for impersonating and officer.
That's clear, sir! You can bet your sweet you-know-what that if MY son had pulled this trick...his driving days would be over and I would have a SECOND Marauder in the garage. Hell, I would drag him down to the PD and book him myself.

If you were looking for sympathy and validation here ... you missed the mark bigtime. Flaunting the law ain't ever a good idea. Time to reevaluate. You were wrong and got caught. Them's the breaks. You may have gotten over this time .... but now the local LEOs have your number.

give me a call sometime we can go do some of the driving things you've done legally... at the track.
btw, my aunt just opened a store in Ridgewood www.elegant-tailoring.com right in the center of the town where all the cool kids like you hang out (and just across the RR tracks from the police station) since you mentioned it... maybe I'll run into you one day, just don't pull me over.
thanks,

If he had a real badge he would've been locked up, it was probably one of the mini 'badges' given to family/ friends.

hey guys, just got in. lemme clear this up. i admitted to the cop that i was speeding. i said i was having a "rough night"....i have never been ticketed, only pulled over from my wrong doings once in my 03 acura TL-S in CT state highway for speeding 50 in 40...(had to get home quick i didn't want it to get dark). i did something really dumb....no i wasn't impersonator an officer ( i used to do that, but quit when i heard my description of my MM on the police scanner after i pulled someone over)....i know 2 State policemen, and one of them gave me that badge, it's built into my wallet so when i open it to get my license, it shows. my dad, and family know about this...as long as i'm safe (and in that big hunka beast i am) they don't really get pissed off for things like that. it sucked...yeap....i'm calling the cop guys i know tomorrow morning, and trying to get them to call the police station and get my friggin badge back. if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know, or if you want to help me out, lemme know where to paypal you. ;). jk...wish me luck tomorrow. (i never do ****nit like that). g'night officers -shawn

Sorry...but let me ask.
You have a badge but you're not an officer? How is that not impersonating?

Not only did you just dig yourself a deeper hole, you just pulled the dirt in on top of yourself. You don't deserve any of the breaks you got.

You deserve to be explaining this story to a judge. Should have regrets about driving poorly. I've been pulled over and given a "not so good driver" reward before, but never have I expected other people to feel sorry for me. Go find a place to play w/o taking chances on hurting other people.

Shawn744,
I'd encourage you to think about the consequences of your actions. Heaven help you if you were to interfere with someone who doesn't want to be interfered with. If an eighteen year old pulled me over with bull**** ID, I'd have him on the ground and waiting for the locals to show up. You'll end up getting yourself hurt or worse for your trouble.
He should've charged you and I most certainly hope you don't get it back. You've already proven your absolute lack of respect for that badge you were holding.
On that note, Your exploits are immature, stupid, fool-hardy and downright criminal. Now, on the premise that I really don't need to be getting subpeona'd WHEN the next LEO takes you were you most certainly do need to spend some time to think, this thread is closed.
Do not post again on the subject or your account will be removed.
