Ok. Here it goes.

We just got back from MVII and had a fantastic time. As mentioned in another post, it's time that we cheeseheads show our strength and hospitality.

1.) - We need to set a date. Sunday, September 19th

2.) - Find a central location. Madison, WI
SMOKEY BONES Restaurant
Location: Westside of Madison
418 S. Gammon Rd.,
Madison, WI.
608-833-2736

I think we should start with just a meet & greet.

1.) - How about September? The first weekend is Labor day and most everyone already has plans. September 12 will hopefully work for most people.

2.) Location. I suggest Madison. Our capitol has a lot to offer and its an easy drive for members from Northern IL, Northern WI, Northern IA and Southern MN.

Chicago (O'Hare) - MSN = 2 hours
MKE - MSN = 1 hour
Green Bay - MSN = 2 hours
MPLS - MSN = 4.5 hours

Edited to reflect date and location 9-15-04

I'd be up for it.

I'll have to check my on call schedule for Sept.

I'll post again tomorrow.

Cool! Was just by madison a couple weeks ago! Went up to Marshfield to pick up a stepside box for my 79 ford. I actually broke down and put a trailer hitch on the MM and trailered it back.

Count me in!

I am definately interested. Madison is good with me and I will check with my "scheduler" to see if one date works better than another.

I'm up for either date. Of course, school will be back in session by then so nothing for me is written in stone.

Thanks,

That sounds like a good place. I can make either date that you posted. Is Milwaukee area a consideration? Just asking  I would bring my MM wannabe, until I can aford the real thing.

The 12th is not good for me; I am free on the 19th but it's quite a long drive and there is only a 41% chance I could make it.

How about Davenport, IA on the 19th? Then I would have a better chance to come in from Omaha, and also maybe get a few of our St Louis and KC MM brothers and sisters to join in.

That's a great idea for another meet at some time.

For now, I'm trying to set something for the Northern Midwest folks.

Hopefully it will work out.

It would be great if you could make it! Looking forward to seeing you again.

BTW. On the drive home from MVII, I was behind you for quite some time. You sure enjoy blasting by those cars, trying to pass you. The sound your car makes when you stomp it at highway speeds is just awesome.

Been meaning to tell you that.

C ya,

Just wanted to refresh this thread. I'm working on some details on what to do in the Mad-city ! Let me know if anyone is coming into town on Saturday. I can help with arrangements if needed.

Everyone keep Sept. 19 marked in your calendars. I found a nice, local BBQ place we can all meet and eat. It's no Route 66 chicken, but I'm trying to offer the Windy City guys (and gals) something worthwhile to come up for.

Anyone coming in on Saturday email me peter@dettmer.net or, if you prefer send me an PM.

For Sunday:

Sadly I cannot attend

I was hoping my schedule would clear out enough but I just can't make it out of town this weekend. I was really looking forward to seeing everyone too.

Have one for me,

Sorry everyone. I cannot make it.

I tried to get my on call time covered but both the gents that could do it are busy.

Just the unfortunate part of my work (damn on call time!!!)

Hope everyone has a great day....wish I could make it.

I hope this is not taken poorly after the above cancellations, but I am not coming either. We have a sick baby and I need to stay around here today. Incidentally, hospitals are boring on weekends, as we found out last night. This is not anything life-threatening as far as we know, but given that this is our first I don't want to leave my wife to fend for herself here.

Hope everyone has fun,

What a great day for a meet. Weather cooperated nicely.

Thanks to Mark and Bob for making the 2-3 hour drive up to Madison. We had a good time, good food and good conversation.
Thanks to Mark for giving us a ride in his beast!

I had hoped for a little bigger turn-out, but I understand how things come up and people can't make it at the last minute. Hopefully next time we will get a few more visitors.

Pictures are posted in the event gallery (http://www.mercurygallery.net/mmnet/showgallery.php/cat/506/password/03695bbc2257e2f8e8a7d2d0205532 c6)

Thanks again to everyone!

Great pics!

Sorry again I couldn't make it....but work has to take priority in this case

I'll see what I can do if we ever decide to do it again. Lets just hope it doesn't fall during my on call week!
