Wow! I got back in town earlier from Marauderville 2. I had a BLAST! I met some very awesome people that I've been waiting to meet for a while, including the sun that warms our earth and makes skin bright red.

From the first day forward Haggis and his wife Ladyhawke, Marauderchick, BigdogJim, Cruztaker, Zack, Teamrope, Logan, Slowpoke Steve Babcock, Jerry Barnsand countless others (sorry if I didn't directly list your name) made the trip extremely enjoyable and everything went very smoothly. I had such a great time and I'm really thankful for everyone there or not there who spent their personal time making sure everything went well. It was a GREAT gathering over all. Everyone was super along the way and there were no troubles except for someone smoking tires on the raceway and getting the pace boy's panties in a bind.:burnout: :burnout: Anyway, I know I'm a lucky lil' kid.

For the first time I drag raced, in BigDogJim's car. My second run I red lighted and didn't bother to floor it all the way down the track so I came back around and it rained so I only have one time slip with: .505 r/t 2.3 something 60 foot, 16.003 1/4 at 91mph. Not bad for a stock car and a new driver in 80 degree weather and a crap load of stuff in the trunk.

I was allowed to drive Trilogy 2 by myself but I chose to take Kathy aka Marauderchick with me and Donny said "Hell I'm goin' too" to which I believe Kathy and I scared the **** out of him and he didn't choose to drive. Jerry said "yeah, the keys are in the car, take it for a spin" and we came back 45 minutes later after having to fill it up with gas:) It was great to get ahold of a simple supercharged car, nothing to wild like Zacks or Lidios to throw to the 17 year old first run. It was very easy to control and QUITE a bit of fun. Car goes like all heck. Although it could use some better brakes (only complaint) being that they're the same thing my car has.

I also had a run at Cruztakers car for a good amount of time. THAT was fun...I loved the way his car drove/acted/reacted and I especially loved his exhaust system (full kooks and magnaflow mufflers)

ANNNYways. I've posted some pictures and will be posting more (Thanks Logan! 5 at a time makes it 5 times easier!) I hope you like them!

Glad everyone had a killer time! I know I did!

James, it was nice meeting you too. I would like to thank you for being the first person to greet me when I arrived. The first thing out of your mouth was " You must be BigSlim." "I know it is you because of the mirrors." I must say that you deserved the Steve Babcock awarded jacket. When he told me you getting it I said no one deserved it more. I hope to see next year in your own MM. Next year take mine for a spin.

Oh, I thought I posted about the jacket but reading back I see I didn't.

Steve Babcock awarded me one of the leather jackets you guys get when you buy your Marauder. It's a large and it is VERY cool, I have wanted a leather jacket for a loooong time just never found one I liked. It fits well and looks so badass. I don't know if anyone else here on the site had some responsibility with this and I may never, but thanks so much if there is. Definitely made my day that day. You guys are the best:rock:

Well, we started the negotiations to get them to give you a Marauder, but for some reason they were quite insistent that you'd REALLY rather have the jacket...Ah well, you know what they say, go with the flow!

Enjoy the jacket!! I'm honestly not sure how that came about, I'm sure Dan, Mary, Dave or Mark can shed some light!

Steve Babcock had the two jackets to award. He felt Jerry Robbins deserved one for his help with the two groups coming together. He then had to think who deserved the second one. It took all of two seconds for him to say James. He liked his enthusiasm for the car and his posting on our board. When said James was his picked we all agreed that he should have it. Steve Babcock did say that he would probably like the jacket more then recieving a MM. So he got the jacket instead of the car.

James it was good to finally get to meet you, I look at you and see a little of myself at your age although I wasn't as mature as you are at that age and I'm still not. LOL.

Sorry you did not get the oppunity to drive the Black Bomber at Indy, but you were so busy jumping all around the place. I was alittle disappointed I had wanted to be the first one to let you drive their car, but I am glad you had a good time. Also sorry that even though I thought I was taping your run in Bigdog's car I hadn't pushed the record button, :stupid: . I am glad you took the lap around the track with Chris and I.

Thank your father and mother, from me, for letting you come to Indy. Doug is a nice guy and I was glad to have met him, but next time park the Magnum around the corner not in the middle of the Marauders, :puke: .

James one last thing If I had a son I would want him to be like you.
Maybe next time we can spend more time together. Take care of yourself, enjoy life and be safe.

Gordon

p.s
I want some copies of those pics of me in my kilt.

Yeah Haggis I'll get you some copies.

Please don't think that I was just jumping from one car to another to your car. I've already driven Todd's well before I came here and I just happened to get a chance in some other rides before yours. Sorry it didn't quit work out, I was kind of waiting for you to say "ok" and then, it rained and time was sparse.

But I'm really glad you enjoyed me coming, I definitely enjoyed your company and getting a ride in your car at % And the t-shirts you gave me are awesome! I will be wearing them on a regular basis, that was very cool of you, and I want to thank you a lot for 1.) trying to get me there in the months before, that support went a long way in ensuring I did and 2.) the t-shirts. Thanks thanks, 1,000,000 times:)

Well, well. well.. I and Ms. M (Kathy) are so glad you( James) had such a great time at MM II...

What most don't know is that we both met you earily in your introduction days here ar the MM.net and we gave you a back seat ride that put you in the back seat, so to speak,,,...anyway- we had a great day meeting you back then and are thrilled to see you have so much fun from the group..but I'd had hoped to have you have drive #7 around a bit as well,...love that
track and maybe other things..but personal situations prevailed and we didn't make it like alot of others--but you have won the hearts of many an older owner of MM's here and I hope your Dad and Mom appreciate the appaluse(sp) you are receiving.....after I get a few runs down the 1/4 maybe we can do it too.....

Proud of the whole MM.net board for all we are and what we do , .

My thanks to Logan and all involved..wish we could have been there..a second year with problems..maybe not the next time......you all are great..

I should also tell everyone who didn't go. When we left the airport and got to the rental place, they had a seabring all ready for us but I said "Doug, there's a Magnum in the parking lot let's get THAT instead!" and so we did. We showed up in a pearl white, 2.7L V6, slow as hell-rubbermaid Dodge Magnum.

Yep! James even got to beat on Mrs teamrope's car. I never knew a 17 year old's grin could stretch that far. Glad to see you had such a good time, and it was a pleasure to let you drive.
Now I can't wait till MMville III!
