I've been very happy with my 1725 tuner and the performance it has provided.
I have used 91 or 92 Octane exclusively since I changed the tuning .
But , I was wondering if using 94 Octane would provide any appreciable gains?

Short answer? It depends...
Longer answer:
The car is spec'd to run on 91 octane, with a stock tune...use of a modified tune, like from Dennis, Wes, or Lidio, or by using a hand-held tuner, MAY change that to the point that you are now knock-constrained...in other words, the knock sensor may be pulling timing back. The only way to tell is to try a tank of the 94 and see if anything changes...it certain won't hurt anything, but you may find it doesn't run any better, either.
One of the myths that refuses to die is that higher octane alone will cause a car to produce more power, run cooler or smoother, etc. Wrong. It's been demonstrated time and again that you will get the best performance and efficiency by using an octane that JUST allows the car to run without knocking or pinging. Using premium fuel in a car that is designed and tuned for regular is just blowing your money out the tailpipe. OTOH, changing the tuning MAY require an increase in octane to prevent preignition.
So...
I'm not directly familiar with the spark tables in the 1725, so I don't know if it will change things enough to require higher octane...try it and see. My car has been tuned by Jerry, and tweaked by Dennis and Zack, and I have no issues running whatever 93 octane is convenient, usually Gulf or Stop & Shop (regional supermarket chain)...

I put a superchip by Lidio in my car last Friday. He asked specifically what grade octane I was able to get. My chip is tuned for 93 octane, which is readily available where I live.

I have a special program (one of four) Lidio wrote for me to utilize 110, and all I can say is....ohhh hell yeah!
With the timing tweeks and high octane the power increase is extremely noticable.

Hey Barry, your car is your daily driver too no? Do you run around with 104 in the tank all the time, or do you use 93 and somehow pump/siphon the gas out at the track and add the 104?

Thanks for the info. I just got a 1725 from Wes and upping the performance to the 91 octane level available here in CA seems like an easy step, and according to the tuner documentation IS supposed to give me a performance boost (even tho I am obviously already running 91 octane (?)), but how do I handle the tranny tune options? My plan was to upgrade the chip BEFORE doing the 4:10 gear change, because from all I have read that should get me some performance boost just by itself, but I have no idea how to "firm up" or tweak the tranny shift options.
Obviously I'm going to leave them alone without some good info on what to do.
Thanks for any help!

I drive it as daily as weather and bussiness travel permit. I run a 93 program daily, and run the tank till the add fuel light comes on when I know I'm going to the track. I have learned that I can do about 40 miles for sure with the add fuel light on.
I then just put in 5 gallons of the good stuff, flip the switch, enjoy the smell, and drive on!
