Mike,

300A's had a full size spare, separate clock on the dash, map pockets, and a gas door release on the door. Later 2003 MMs were "decontented" and called 300B's when these items were eliminated and the spare was replaced by a donut spare. I believe Traction Control was added during the switch from A to B. The difference only applies to the 2003 MM since all '04 MMs are outfitted the same.

Do a search on "decontented" or "300A" to read more -- this has been described in alot of detail.

As to why --- I have a 300B but would definitely prefer a full sized spare. As to some of the other differences, they are probably a matter of personal perference. Map pockets would be nice. Same for a locking gas door.

Guess mine is a 300A then since it has all the things you mentioned.
WHat does the dash look like without the clock there?
I read where some have the clock in the radio.
Thanks, Mike
