O.K. guys and gals, I need your help,
One of my best friends just bought a new 2003 Black on Black with trunk organizer in April. From there he under went valve surgery, a million problems and passed in July without ever having driven the car more than a few dozen times.
Dave was a car guy, he traded a 76 Vette and a 56 Buick to get the dough to buy the Marauder. I actually drove his wife and daughter to and from the funeral in the car at his bequest. Trust me the car is immaculate , has sat in his garage since April , and still has that new car smell.
His wife wants to sell , is not desparate , but has the dealers hounding her at God awful prices.
This is a chance for someone to get an absolute jem at a reasonable price, but I would hate the car to go to a dealer and have him make a lousy offer to her and then sell for a profit at her expense.
I'm not in the business, so I'm not interested in dealing , so serious inquiries only. I just want her to get a reasonable price and for the car to go to someone who will appreciate it.
Thanks for your time and if you have any ideas on how to proceed , I'd appreciate it
Bob.

Sad story. Sorry to hear about your friend. My condolences to his family. There have been several folks here shopping in the last several weeks. It ought to get better as dealer stocks thin out. I am sure that someone will pick up on this one.

Seriously, if she's not desperate to sell, she ought to have you put the car up on jacks, fog the engine, take the battery out and let it sit for a couple of years.
Once the last new Marauder has left the dealer's lot, the cars value (due to it's low mileage) will go right on up. Preserving the car and waiting for its value to go up may just be the way to go.

Sorry to hear about your friend Skipper.
I'll keep my ears open. There aren't any on the lots around here. If anyone asks me where they can get one, I'll point them at you.

Sorry if I'm opening an old wound here Bobby, but I just got an email from a kindly gentleman, Joe, in Calgary who bought a 2003, Black, from an estate sale in Halifax.
Sounds like your friends car is in good hands.

HI Bob (Bobby) just touching base, as it sounds like I was the one, if your friends initials were DJK! My condolences to you as his friend, I'll try to live up to whatever kind of man he was. And will certainly look after his/our Marauder. It truly is a treat to drive. After test driving one here in Alberta, nothing else could change the smile on my face. I'm looking forward to many years of pleaseurable cruzing in this luxurious beast. I have two nieces curretnly living in Halifax as well as an old friend, so if we ever make it that far east I 'll call ahead and maybe we can meet?
Take care, and don't worry, the Marauder is in loving hands!
Joe

:cool4: Sounds like a really good ending to a sad story. It is good that this ultra-clean car was able to find a good home and a good owner.

This thread should bring tears to most, great that we have this site to be close on.

You guys should have read the message Bobby sent(sorry it was private)describing what a guy his friend was. I can only hope I have as much fun in life and leave such a lasting impression.
Bobby, I will follow up with you, once I get past a couple of looming deadlines.
In the mean time, gotta run...Joe :burnout:

We'll have to set something up this summer Joe to honour the spirit of Bobby's late friend. Perhaps when you're up this way, we'll do the Banff - Jasper Highway back to Calgary (Or meet in Rocky Mountain House, and go North) and tape it.

Glenn,
Maybe I never mentioned it but I spent two summers driving for Brewsters out of Banff while I was in school. The Banff, Jasper corridor was my workplace along with regular trips to and from Calgary.
Incidently , thanks for connecting Joe and I albeit on a sad note.
This forum just gets better and better.

Big country, but a small world, eh skipper! I never told you ethier, but my family is from Ship's Harbour, just East of Halifax. The Siteman/King side of the family anyway.

Total fluke. Joe mentioned how he got his car, and I remembered this thread, and connected the dots.
If knowing a little piece of your friends life is still going strong helps you, and helps Joe, I am more than happy to be of assistance anytime.
