View Full Version : Anybody got SCT Programmer?

I had my computer flashed with an SCT programmer that made my car run lean on bank 1 so I'm considering getting my own SCT tuner so I don't have to be at the mercy of mechanics that overcharge and don't deliver.

Has anyone actually purchased an SCT tuner that can flash your PCM with the programming for your laptop? I'm not talking about the hand held devices although if they work just as well, please let me know so I can take a purchase of one into consideration as well.

Hey Russ...

When I ran the car w/o the rear O2 sensors connected the computer tripped a code that said "left bank lean". Maybe it's your custom exhaust interacting with the new tune in an adverse way. I installed the Pony Express MIL Eliminators and have not had another problem since. If you take it back to the tuner, they can also disable the O2's through the tuning.

Not sure if any of that helps.... I'm sure you knew most of it already ;)

I'd rather not diable the 02 sensors, I have to go through inspection this month.


I have a feeling one of the 02 sensors wasn't plugged back in, or worse was put too close to the pipe and melted off.

PS. Thanks for the suggestion, I will check the 02's as soon as it stops raining and I get out of work.

To your first question I believe NBCShooter has the SCTRace programmer.
If he doesn't catch this thread PM him for info.
