The perfect night in three easy steps:

1. Trade in adequately powered, wrong wheel drive Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (listen, no V8 rumble).

2. Pick up GORGEOUS new DTR/Black 'Rauder (hear the V8 rumble?)

3. Cruise down to the legendary Woodward Avenue for the pre-cruise cruisin' in the new ride.

Yep, I finally went and did it. I was considering a used MM for quite a while (I gave Constable's some serious thought), but then I came to the conclusion that a new one was the choice for me. Picked it up from Varsity Mercury Lincoln in Wixom, Michigan. My sales woman - Jane Rekuc (pronounced re-cook) was a pleasure to work with. They still have one black MM and several DTR and silver ones left.

So as I'm cruising down Woodward a Black MM with an incredibly deep polished paint job rolls up next to me. Turns out it's Big Slim! Hey Slim, nice ride! I could hear those flowmasters sounding sweet when you goosed it away.

So I guess I'll be meeting alot of you folks down at the Dream Cruise this year. For the past 4 or 5 years we've been parking my fathers '56 Chevy Nomad at the Burger King across from Dugan's Irish Pub. Big Slim said that's real close to where the Motor City Marauder's will be - excellent. Looking forward to it.

I'll be wanting to talk to some experienced people about the Trilogy supercharger that I plan on installing...

Final note - MercuryMarauder.net rocks! Hey Logan and members, thanks for the great site! :coolman:

Jeff, way to go!!!! Congratulations on your new car. I'm sure that you'll never regret your purchase. What a blast it is to have that V8 under the hood, uh? And BTW, if you can swing the Trilogy S/Cer purchase too, don't even hesitate. You'll be thrilled w/it!!!

I installed the Trilogy S/cer in my 2003 Marauder, when it had 11K on the clock, and now there's 16K on it, and I've never regreted it. I only wish that I installed the S/Cer before I did any of the other mods that I did to this car. It's that good. I'm sure I would've still installed the Kooks headers and complete exhaust package, since I luv the way the car sounds w/them. But after all the mods I've performed to this car, my advice to everyone who says that they're considering the Trilogy S/Cer kit as you have is, do that first, because I think that's all you'll need.

My car does it all now. It's my daily driver for work, my interstate cruiser for trips, and ocassionally my race car at the track (about twice per year). By comparisant, I've had a 69 Plymouth Roadrunner w/a 440 under the hood (4 spd stick), a 72 Corvette w/a built 350 engine (4 spd stick), a 72 Olds Cutless w/a 350 engine, 72 Pontiac Lemans w/a 400 engine, and an 84 Z28 Camaro. Those are the American Hi-perf cars I've had, and my S/Ced Marauder w/this 281 engine (4.6L) is faster than any of those other cars I've had ever were!!!

Hello fellow marauderers (that's easier to type than to say) Thanks for the warm welcome and kind replies. Paul, you were right, I like it more tonight than I did this morning and that's sayin' something! Thanks woaface! Thanks Bluerauder! dwasson - thanks for the info, see ya there. FiveO - thanks! bigslim - looking forward to seeing you and the gang Saturday. jgc61sr2002, Bigdogjim, Patrick - thanks for the welcome, glad to be on board!

BillyGman - thanks for the input. I'm in agreement with your suggestion. Hopefully the addition of the trilogy blower will get my otherwise stock car into the low 13's. At that point the Marauder will be the fastest car I've ever had (previous fastest was a 14.3 Grand National), and I can decide then if I need to get into the mid 12's with the Cook's system and the drag radials, and perhaps a few other mods and mends.

Alrighty then, happy Raudering!

Yes Jeff, you've got it right. With the the Trilogy Supercharger kit alone, I'm positive your car will easily get into the mid13's, if not the LOW 13's w/out any doubt in my mind at all. And just as you've said, in order to get it consistently in the 12's even on very hot days, you'll have to add those other things you've mentioned. Especially the Drag radials.

Yes, absolutely RC.....since I haven't noticed Jeff around here very often, I just wanted to make sure to share my veiwpoint w/him on that incase he didn't catch that "Save Your Money" thread that I placed in the Trilogy Motorsports forum.
