Back in early December, after I read here that the oil gauge is not 'real', I sent a note to the lady at MM that sent me a 'thanks for buying a MM' letter. Got a call this week about it. Talked to Lori who called for Elena. I had asked about 2 things. The gauge and how LM looks at cards mods.

Lori had no answer regarding the gauge. She started to tell me to have a dealer look at but stopped when I told her the service manuals indicate it is a simple on/off sender. I mentioned the aftermarket AutoMeter that does worked. She was quick to tell me that would not be covered by the dealer. Gee, no merde lady!!

Then I asked about mods. Basically she said any problem in an area that has a mods will not be covered. So if the EC module dies after the Reinhart chip is installed, you eat the replacement cost.

Then she made a statement that, if I recall right, really lays it all on the dealer and what he wants to do.

So if you have a hip dealer you can mod away. I don't. :(

My letter went to Elena Ford, MM Program HQ, 1501 Maple Lane, Troy, MI 48084

The phone number for contacting Lori is 313-845-5831.

Write and/or phone and complain or praise, as you wish.

Don, I wrote two letters to Ford, one directly to Mr. Babcock who supposedly is the Marauder Project manager. I also communicated thru e-mail with L/M representatives. I asked exactly 4 questions, my questions never were answered ( I recieved replies) just no answers. Ford made it clear that my concerns were not worthy of an answer and that as a customer they could care less who I do business with. I love my Marauder and do not regret buying the last vehicle I will purchase from Ford Motor Co. I don't yell or scream when I am slighted, I simply don't return. I have a very long memory. Long live the Marauder !

Sad, but true...in Ford's defense, let me just say that you know what would happen if ANYONE, from the dealer all the way the president, actually admitted that something could have been done better; they'd open the company up to every wacko with a lawyer, and Ford would spend all its time dealing with frivolous lawsuits. I gave up writing letters and making phone calls, because I know in my heart no one will EVER give me a valid answer.

Except on this board... :D

RF Overlord. You are absolutely right, we do live in a society were frivolous lawsuits have become the norm and Ford has been the target of some of those. However my questions were in the area of specifications for certain Marauder components and Ford could have done a better job of providing information or at the very least simply reply that they did not wish to answer my questions because of the above stated reasons, instead the replies insisted that my questions had already been answered and implied that I just simply didn't understand the answers they provided. So basically I am just too damm stupid to understand. That is were they lose me, I have far more respect for a denial to answer than to insult me by telling me "that my questions have already been answered". Smokie.

You sound disappointed to hear this from a factory rep. What would you say in her shoes?

Anyway...Here's a mod we can all have fun with, friendly dealers or not.

OK, now I feel cheated...you mean instead of spending over $300 for Dennis's chip, which only gives +18 HP, I could have gone to Radio Shack, gotten a resistor for $0.29, soldered it in and gained over +20 HP???

That's it...I'm calling Joe Obelcz's lawyer and suing Dennis...
