Anyone know where I can get a programmer for my new 2004 MM
I just want some extra horses and little more torque. I want to leave
the car stock otherwise....Please help, I am getting crazy over this....
Thanks:dunno:

www.alternativeauto.com

Should be enough. Call Lidio.

www.reinhartautomotive.com can also help you...

Either way....you can't go wrong.

^^^what FiveO said^^^

I believe 2004s can only use a hand-held tuner...the service port is shut off so a chip won't function...

You can use a chip on a 2004. You have to open up the port. I have a SC by Lidio. Works great, but if they ever look there is no way to hide the fact that a chip had been installed. Unless you buy a second ECM.

What about the SCT? Are they cleared for the 04 yet?

SuperChip now has a programmer for the 04. Installed one last week. Firms up the tranny quite well.

I like the idea of the Alternative Auto chip. Can a regular guy purchasae, have delivered to his home, and install the chip in his garage, or do you need to find a computer-nerd/mechanic to do it for you?

Can a regular guy purchasae, have delivered to his home, and install the chip in his garage, or do you need to find a computer-nerd/mechanic to do it for you?On a 04 you need only a 10mm socket, small ext, ratchet and a pair of snips to open the computer port. 10 minute job, 20 total to let the computer reset. Very easy. If you can change a flat tire you can do this. Give Lidio a call. :cool4:

CAUTION!!!!

Dennis had 3 new 04's in South Florida at a dealership and they put chips in them and none worked!! :dunno:

Soooo......If you cut the hole and the board is missing a few contacts......and the chip won't work......you will have to use the tuner and have already told on yourself with the hole in the EEC!!!

Go with the tuner and be safe?? ;)
