Greeting MM fans,

I'm a new guy, but I've been floating around your forum for a while checking out what's what in the world of MM aftermarket support. Looks good, so I think I'm ready to go get one this week.

I'm looking for a little guidance on a price target. I was suprised to see a neat row of 11 MM's sitting on my local dealer's lot (Chicago, western suburbs) and when I asked why I never see too many on the street he replied, "...because they're all here on our lot." !!! He started the price negotiation at invoice and 0% financing and he said he might be able to do a little better than that.

I know it's winter, but these beauties seem to be piled up like cordwood on the lots. Has anybody been able to get a dealer to go significantly below invoice price in negotiations without rebates considered? Anybody know what the dealer holdback is like on MM's?

This looks like a sweet deal all around. Nice to save some money for go fast parts... Now if we could just get a nice big snowstorm I'll be ready to go and pillage some desparate dealership.

In any case, thanks for hosting a great board.

Ooops!

That was my first post on your board and I duplicated another thread that just started. In the time it took me to register and type my post, Mr. Fat Bastid started another very similar thread.

Logan, please feel free to condense my thread into the other one.

Sorry!

S**T happens Vince, no sweat. I did post this in the other thread, hope it helps you. BTW, my dealer is in the Chicagoland area, if you can deal with that.

"I talked with my dealer early last week on behalf of a friend. There are dozens of things to consider when negotiating to the bottom line. His closer in the conversation was "tell him he'll drive home, all things done, for thirty k." That's eight k less than I paid in July...ouch.

Key for you to remember here, is that the dealer wants to sell as bad, (if not more) than you should want to buy. If your hands are too sweaty with lust, they will know, and push up. Be cool, reluctant, hold your ground on what you want to spend. Visit as many dealers as you can, walk away with written proposals to show the next guy. It's Liar's poker here, but remember, they have the cars, you have the time.

PS...What people really pay, and what they boast of on the 'net, is also Liar's poker, take it all with a grain..."

Good luck!

I paid right around 30k including a $2500 rebate. I'd say that's a good target.
