I'll join the N. Y. chapter as I reside on Long Island. I may purchase the MM in the A.M.:) :) :) :) John

John:

Do you mind if I ask how much you are paying and what is on the MM that you are looking at?

I am negotiating for one in Westchester and the dealer doesn't seems to be coming down too much in price (but I am not through with im yet!).

Does it have Traction Control and heated seats?

jgc61sr2002
01-20-2003, 08:30 PM
Stan The MM had heated seats and T.C.. Down side didn't have full size spare, remote fuel door (also deleated from late GM) and clock was included in radio. We haven't reached a final # but it was to date $29,500 with the $3000.00 factory rebate. Seems like FMC is trying to recoup some of the cost of T.C. by the deleation of the above items. What was the price of your M.M. Thanks John:) :)

martyo

I am still negotiating but the dealer said to me today that he would get me a 300B (Traction control, trunk organizer, six cd changer) for $29,000.00 after all the rebates were factored in. He says I will hear from him tomorrow. I will let you know. I found another dealer who has a 300A for $29,300.00 (no traction control, no heated seats, trunk organizer and 6 cd changer).

I hope to be able to officially join the club by the weekend!

Then, we will need a NY Chapter for sure!!

01-21-2003, 03:03 PM
Stan I am going to the LM dealer in the AM . Will keep you posted on the results. Would like to get the MM for $28,500. Will push them a little more. Hopefully we can get together on the price. John:) :)

martyo
02-17-2003, 01:44 PM
Nexstar: No one has started one yet that I am aware of. There are finally a few NY owners starting to pop up. I belive that I have scared up enough interest that a few of the guys will join.

Where in NY are you?

Hey New Yorkers, we can't let the boys in The Windy City have all of the fun, now can we?

nexstar7

Let's see who is in NY: Me, you, gja, effster, jgc62sr2002, BlackBadger.....

I know I am leaving some of the guys out, so all NY'er's feel free to pipe in. We might even let some of the Jersey guys come (Reaper and whoever else is down there).

Let's get all of the names, pick a date and and place and get it done. I live in Westchester, so I am flexible on the location. Perhaps somewhere in Long Island that isn't too far out. John (jgc) can you think of a spot, maybe Port Washington or Manhasset??

Speak up fellas!!!

jgc61sr2002
02-17-2003, 06:09 PM
Marty - I live about 30 miles east of Port Washington, I'll do some research unless someone else has a location. John :)

02-17-2003, 06:45 PM
Ok guys, looks like we are on a roll. John buys the first round sonce he has heated seats!!

If each NY'er out there that wants to participate would e-mail me, I'll take the task of assembling a list so I can do a broadcast e-mail to all those interested as we set something up.

Sound like a plan?

Nexstar, Black badger, Reaper, anyone else, are you in or out??

First, Nexstar, throw some places out there for us to meet. Make sure they have a lot where we'll be able to take some photos.

Next, everyone throw some dates out there that you are available. I suggest any weekend other than the first weekend in March. Anyone else??

02-20-2003, 10:31 PM
Hey......

not a Marauder owner, nor am I from New York but we had loads of fun setting up Panther/B-body meets on Ceasar's Bay over the past few years, and if you guys aren't ashamed of us Vic/GM/ or even Chebby Caprice/Impala SS owners, lets be in the same club, shall we?

I posted awhile back about JerseyVics club and how its open to the NYC area but I don't see how everyone is willing to be affiliated with that name, its not a problem. If you guys want to start a New York Chapter I could help out with the web design of the page and give it some space on my web site www.jerseyvics.com Obviously we all meet and chat right here on the forums, but for general info about the chapter I can host a site just for you guys.

let me know what you think!

martyo
02-21-2003, 04:31 AM
Russ: As far as I am concerned, all are welcomed. If the other NY'er's disagree, let 'em pipe in. Besides, if we can sucker some guy(s) from Jersey to buy the drinks, I say, hey why not....

OK guys, here's the scoop. The date is set for Saturday, March 15, 2003. Pray to whoever you pray to or do whatever it is you do to ensure good weather.

The exact time is to be determined. One of the guys on Long Island needs to pick a place (jgc, gja, Effster, are ya listening?). I suggest Port washington or Manhasset as being somewhat "centrally" located.

The anticipated attendees are (not necessarily in jacket size order): jgc, Effster, gja, nexstar, Bigdogjim (Bigdog gets the award for furthest distance traveled), BlackBadger, and me (stanleyk). I still have not heard from JohnnyB and JerseyVic (I will e-mail them again). Of course, if any one else wants in, just let us know.

Looks like we are going to have a good turnout. So boys, get the cars waxed up and be there or be square!

I should be able to make it! Maybe grab a CVN friend with a 2002 CVLX Sport and roll in together... he's got Roush rims on his Vic you guys might be interested to see that (Crown Vic) name Dan... Dan if you're reading this I'll probably stop by your place and head out from there together.

Excuse me, guys, for butting in, but I got an idea.

As our "regional" clubs continue to form and grow, maybe our clubs could adopt a regional "sticker" or sign for display on the MM? this could be like trading shoulder patches, or, enameled pins...Met them, visited there, got a pin/sticker in trade...

Just a thought...Rock on with an MM, eh?

What if Todd's guys from Atalnta show up here, start thrwoin' some signs at us Yankees...It could get ugly. The next thing ya know the NY'ers will be pullin' out the pocket protectors recommended by LML....Oh my it could get real ugly!!

somebody make a round patch with a Mercury God-Head caricature to resemble the statue of Liberty, and the text around it to say in mercury font leters: Mercury Marauder Club of New York

Any law enforcement supply shop would be able to place an order for you guys directly with china where a bunch of underage workers will put their efforts together to hand-saw the finest quality patches you've ever seen, LOL cost about $5 bux each... but worth it!

by the way guys, how far is this from Queens? seems like quite a hike, you all live that deep into Long Island?

martyo
02-23-2003, 04:22 PM
nexstar: Please, don't use the words "pull" and Hooters in the same sentence. This is a family site!

Funny you should ask though. I just got off the phone with them to see what arrangements could be made (besides Sarge showing up in a kilt!) and the gal I spoke to was pretty clueless (to her credit, it was the dinner hour and it sounded kind of busy).

I will call during the week and see whether I can get a manager type on the telephone and see what I can do. I am going to see if they'll block off a section of the parking lot so that we can all park together. Even if they won't the place opens at 11:45 a.m., so we will just have to plan our arrival time accordingly.

Everyone attending, please drop me a line so that I can make the reservations.

I look forward to seeing you all then.

did i hear my name mentioned???

I have been working on a window decal. it's the gods head logo which will 'cling' to the inside of the rear window. I am just waiting for the weather to warm a bit before I slap one on the car. I dont think it will work on a window that retracts into the door; rather on the back window or the small windows in the back seat area.

Anyone could do this themselves... I bought Avery window cling trasparancies and printed them out. No big deal; no magic; no special machines needed.

JerseyVics
02-25-2003, 09:13 PM
Jonelle had done that for the Massachussets/New Hampshire CVN/NECVO meets that I attended... they tend to be not as detailed or bright in color as professional ones would and they don't cling for very long.

martyo
03-02-2003, 06:08 PM
Working on them and some ideas for pins too. I haven't found anybody that can do the stickers for a reasonable price though.

JerseyVics
03-02-2003, 07:01 PM
there's a place in Central Jersey where I had some stickers made a year or two ago... two for $20 bux... $10 bux a pop (if you buy two) it was pretty good I guess:

http://www.jerseyvics.com/thundervics/1996-thundervics/tv3-4.jpg

http://www.jerseyvics.com/thundervics/1996-thundervics/tv4-4.jpg

If I were to get these done again I'd make them much smaller and in white, so I could put them on the rear window under the third brake light like the CVN stickers are designed to be... only my letters would be a little more massive than CVN's so they're more visible.

John: Funny you should ask. I left my notes in the office, so I just printed it again: 1740 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, Long Island, telephone number 516-357-9545. I think this link should get you directions: http://hooters.know-where.com/hooters/cgi/site?site=139&address=

Make sure you send me an e-mail as I will be forwarding everybody info and my cell phone number to coordinate and resolve any last minute glitches.

Ok you guys, listen uP:

We are set for 11:30 a.m. at Hooter's in East Meadow, Long Island, New York.

Click here for directions: http://hooters.know-where.com/hooters/cgi/site?site=139&address=

The reservations are under my name "Martin." The manager said he would be sure we got a table (the place gets crowded). He also said if we get there by 11:30 a.m., we should be able to get parking together in their parking lot (that should make for a good picture!).

The manager is a car gut too. I told him we won't hold it against him because he likes Impalas (j/k to our Chevy friends).

If anyone needs to discuss anything further, let me know by e-mail and I'll send you my cell phone number.

Also, if you can confirm that you are coming, I would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible.

Look forward to seeing you all then.

JV,
It looks almost 100% that I will be there. I have a fairly serious digital cam. I also have plenty if memory modules for it. I will be taking LOTS of pics. It costs nothing to snap them or share them, only costs to output them to paper. I will send via email or burn to CDROMs so all can share. I can even do video from the camera and could share that.

OK guys, in no particular order, these are the folks that are coming to the Fist Official N.Y. Meet on March 15th so far:

Jersey Vics (Russ)

JohnnyB (John)

Please let me know if I missed anyone, if your status changes, or if anyone will be accompanying you. I need to give the folks at Hooters a final count by Tuesday or Wednesday so that they can have tables ready for us (as if anyone could ever be ready for
such a motley crew!!).

Remember, we should try to get there by no later than 11:30 a.m., so that we can "Mauraderize" the parking lot before anyone else gets there!

Let me know if you have questions, comments, concerns or need directions.

We’ll show those Chicagoans that we know how to have a meet!

I am looking forward to seeing and meeting everyone!!

Any chance of another East Coast get together just a little closer?

martyo

Pick a place. I am sure we will meet again. I originally suggested L.I. (even though it is a drive for me too) because I thought that there were a number of members from there or Queens.

Last weekend I found a great place in Westchester to have a Meet (and I wasn't even looking - - I am sure that i could find others) and we've got three guys from there.

Feel free to chime in (we may ignore you, but feel free to chime in anyway!!).

Excellent Meet Fellas,

First of all, HUGE thanks to Big Dog Jim, very gentlemently of him to hook me up with a ride like that!!! (I'd be super embarrased to be a jack ass at this show with a Crown Vic among all the Marauders) Thank you Very Much Jim, appreciate it!!!

Second, thanks to Bill for the PBA card hookup, that was very nice of you as well!

Third, thanks to "gja" sorry bad with names, for jumping on the H(.y.)ter bill with that American Express card so quick, I hope I chipped in enough cash to reimburst you.... also if you could please e-mail me at jerseyvics@aol.com with your address so I can send you a few bux for that picture CD, of all the pix you took today at the show!

Lots of fun you guys, see you all and more at the next one!

PS. Rob followed us to Jersey and it was quite a site to see... we went into Manhattan for a moment and it was pretty cool having two Marauders following each other.... an NYPD cop took a good look at both of them as we passed by the intersection he was standing on. These cars are awesome!!!

Great attendance at the NY Meet today. The Meet was proof positive of what I have thought from the time I first logged on here a few months ago: A GREAT group of guys who are all willing to help each others out and share ideas. For instance, I just found out today that my car is "unique" in that it has a chrome bezel around the shifter.

Tony,I think I am going to enter my car in the St.james show on sunday. Its right around the corner from my house, and the weather is supposed to be good.We might have to postpone the trip up to CT on saturday,,so far they say rain is coming.I guess its a play it by ear deal towards the end of the week.Hope to see you there...Jeff
