Coil Cover Thumbscrew Group Buy Interest? [Archive]

Hi Guys,
I have been doing research for a few months now to try and drum up a economical source for brass thumb screws that are featured on "Patches", SgtMacs Car. I have found someone that will manufacture them, but I have to buy at least 120 Pcs (Enough for 30 Cars).

The screws will be selling for $40.00 a Set, plus 4.00 Shipping. If we can get 30 sets sold, I can place an order for them and he can start making them.

The thumb screws ad a nice physical appearance while giving it a much simpler method to access the ignition coils.

here is a pic of them with the polished covers and custom InTech plates.

The Plates are $20.00, Choose any Color, Text says, "InTech 32V V8"
For $30, The plate is available with the The Marauder Gods Head Logo or well as the MM.net logo with the God's Head as well. Custom Lettering is also available, i.e. Bunny's Marauder etc.

Please specify if you want the Thumbscrews and the Plates, or Just the screws or just the plates!!

I'll take 2 complete sets of thumbscrews for my 2 MMs. Right now.
I'll discuss with the `boss' tonight about which color Plates we should get, but I need at least 1 plate.

Questions:
1. Can you post a piture of the plate with the Mercury Godshead logo?
2. Does this REPLACE the InTech 32 Valve V8 or is it in addition to?
3. I believe that we can only use a SINGLE plate per motor and that it goes on the driver's side. Is this corect?

The engraved plates are an easy and nifty way to personalize your MM any way you wish. Maybe you could add that precious "custom built for screename" or, just leave it Intech 32V in a color complimenting your engine bay. Anything you wish, I think it's neat to have a choice.

I've had my custom plate in place for over 4 months now, and there's no loss of adhesive due to heat, they stick like no get out. You could add a second plate to the passenger side if you wanted, it just won't be recessed into the cover.

It's quite another neat feature to be able to screw off the coil covers without tools any time you wish. I'm able to check my plugs anytime I want, and to peek in for oil leaks, water leaks, any signs of tired gaskets, or just general debris. Peeking in takes me as long as checking my tranny fluid, and occassional visual inspection can be the difference between minor and serious repairs.

If Wes is waiting for feedback from the plate supplier I hooked him up with, that's Alan from G&L Trophies. He's done a lot of work for us here, including the MV-I license plate, Xmas ornaments, and dozens of dash plaques for meets all over the country. The godshead logo he has on hand is digitized for use on his engraving machine, is our very own MM.Net National Member godshead logo.

So, if you're comfortable with that logo, cool. If you want something else, or Wes has another supplier for the plates, disregard this post.

As much room as the plate allows, I would imagine three to four lines depending on font size.

ITs just the plate, the chrome part is black stock (on 03s anyway), but most people have theirs removed and chromed.

I'm waiting on Thumbscrews, bibs and plates. I figure maybe I'll get the stuff by Christmas. I think I signed up, incl. all payment info, in Sept!!!! For 2 cars worth of stuff!!!

The plates were completed and shipped out this week, and they are supposed to arrive Friday. Please keep in mind that I was not able to order the plates or the Thumbscrews until I had all the orders in, as they are all custom pieces, I had 12 plate orders and every single one was different. If you want me to ship the other parts of your order now, I will get them out ASAP.

I thought I made this clear when I started this group purchase, that parts would not ship until the order qty was fufilled, and I would not charge your credit card until the orders were placed. Apparently its my fault for not making it clear to you.

Not really complaining here. Just stating that by Christmas time it is reasonable to expect everything to be available and shipped. It is perfectly acceptable to WAIT TIL ALL Pieces are ready to ship as one (1) complete package. My real concern seems to have been addressed -- you only now are getting all of the parts together. I can't believe that there is no more interest than what you indicated.
