Anytime a Marauder gets press is good. Maybe a whiole back, it was press to improve sales, but today we just show 'em what they missed.

I have to admit my reference was a bit obscure. I meant "MMMMMM" was the name of the magazine. You know. Homer Simpson.
"Donuts. MMMMMM"
I know, I know, har de har har.

I'm impressed to see the article state that Lidio is selling about one Trilogy Supercharger kit per week now. In that case, Trilogy Motorsports has got to be up to serial #'s in the 40's by now, or maybe even in the 50's.

I believe he is doing one or two installs a week, Jerry says they are moving nicely. I wonder what the final ratio will be Trilogy cars vs everything else? Any one know how many of each there is?

Anyone catch the part of the article that lists the car's specs? Seems to me I see a whole lot of "stock" for the parts listed! Very interesting. I like how they hit on that in particular. Food for thought....so dive in.

Dave, that's funny you should mention that, because I was thinking that the term "stock" is just so over used in general. Everyone tells you that their car is "stock" but among performance enthusiasts, that is very rare. For instance, it says that Lidio's transmission is "stock" and yet it also states that it has a shift kit. Right? So that isn't exactly "stock" is it? Infact, doesn't it also say that his engine is "stock"?? And that's obviously false. How can an engine that didn't come S/Ced from the factory be stock even though it's now been S/Ced as well as powered by N20?
A lot of people want to claim that their engines are "stock" simply because there are no aftermarket internals installed in them, but I don't consider the engine in my Marauder stock anymore. There was a guy w/a 98 Camaro SS that I raced who said that his motor was "stock" because it has "all bolt-ons". Then when I continued to question him about it, he admitted that he had ported cylinder heads as well as a bigger than stock camshaft. Yet he still insisted that it was "stock". Where does it end? he was telling me this all before I raced him, and then I beat him anyway so despite all his false claims of being "stock" he lost anyway. But his engine still isn't "stock". As far as I'm concerned, even if you've only chipped your car, then it no longer is "stock".
As far as the ratio of Trilogy Marauders to other S/Ced Marauders, well, that's somewhat interesting I guess, but as for me personaly, I think it's simply a good thing that there are many S/Ced Marauders of both types (meaning roots type as well as centrifugal type). That gives people who want their Marauder to go a lot quicker to have confidence in the S/Cer kits that are available specifically for Marauders. Ofcourse you and I prefer the Trilogy as do some other Marauder owners, but it's good that there are choices. Competition among vendors is a good thing for us.

The word stock can be misused and abused a lot. So how about this as a definition for stock: when the car is at the dealership unsold, that is stock, after you buy it and fart in it; it's modified.....:tmi:

Billy, Billy, Billy....Stock means just that. Untouched. Lidio's transmission is stock, unrebuilt or beefed up or someones stage 7 trans buildup. The shift kit doesnt negate the fact the the trans hasnt been cracked open and upgraded in terms of bands, j k l m n o p moded or whatever the popular thing is this week in terms of popular follow the leader ridiculous fad. You have too much time on your hands to disect everything someone says. Mine and Lidios engine is stock. My motor is the same way it was when it was rolled of the line at Romeo. I cant believe I have to post this...but I think 99% of the Marauder community would agree that a stock motor is one that hasnt been pulled, stoked, bored over, with new and stronger rods, pistons and other internals. You and I added a power adder. You are spitting hairs here. Now you will never hear me say my trans is stock, cause it isnt. It has been rebuilt, reworked, beefed, modded and tricked out as much as possible to handle what my "stock" supercharged motor will give it. If you read the article very closely, you will notice the items in bold:
Owner/Driver Lidio Iacobelli
Hometown: Mount Clemens, MI
Year/Model: '03 Marauder
Weight w/driver: 4,390 lbs.
Engine: Stock 4.6 4V
Built by: FoMoCo
Tuning: Superchips Custom Tuning by Lidio
Power adder: Trilogy Blower w/Eaton M-112
Intercooler: Air-to-water Maximum boost/
Nitrous qty.: 13.8 psi/50 hp
Intake manifold: Trilogy
Cylinder head(s): Stock
Compression ratio: 10:1
Camshaft(s): Stock
Ignition: Stock
Exhaust: Stock
Transmission: Stock 4R70W
Converter: Stock
Rear type: Stock 8.8 with Traction-Lok and 4.10 gear
Wheels: Stock, rear widened 1.5 in.
Tires F/R: Stock/Nitto 305/45/18 Drag Radial
Suspension front: Stock
Suspension rear: Stock
Best e.t./mph: 11.63/117.20
Are pretty much just that, stock. I think the message he is trying to get accross is that there is no humongeous stall torque converter, no monster long tube headers, no huge exhaust, no funky spark plugs, no trans mods, no cooling mods, etc. As it says, its a stock car for the most part except for a few mods, including the power adder. We can piss and moan about what the "true meaning" of stock is, but who cares.

"Too much time" on my hands? I guess that's your way of saying that you don't agree w/me. really Dave, you don't have to try and discredit people simply to express a different veiwpoint than they do. I don't know about you, but I have nothing to gain or lose by calling them as I see them. You sound like for some reason you're taking my previous comments personally. I don't know why that would be. But there isn't a need for you to get defensive here.
I'm merely speaking from experiences of dealing w/people who like and want to race, or who talk about racing and about their cars. And everyone wants to cry "stock", "I'm all stock dude", but not very many of their cars are. Just like the term "bolt-ons". If I hear someone w/aftermarket cylinder heads and a bigger camshaft say "it's a bolt-on car only" one more time, I think I'll puke. I don't call my car "stock" because it isn't. If you want to call your engine stock, then that's your trip, not mine. Putting 6K into a motor and still calling it "stock" I think is a bit out of touch w/reality. To each their own I guess. Here's a smiley for you, because I know how much you luv them(LOL). :baaa: BTW, nice burnout pic.....

[Stock to me is the way it rolled off the lot as the manufacturer intended it to be. As soon as I throw on the S/C its not. Though I do like how they lable what is and isn't stock in the article.
