Be nice. Just because you, and for that matter I, don't care for the look of it, you can still appriciate the craftmanship it took.

I am very happy that someone has found the Shaft moblie. It was last seen at the Pimp & Ho Costume Ball at Las Vegas (http://www.lasvegas.com/show_event/PIMP_AND_HO_COSTUME_BALL_show_ detail.htm). The reward will be given out by the Archishop Don Majic Juan, and will be featured in MTV's next episode of Pimp my Ride. :director:

I've seen the dark green. We have one here in Detroit. It isn't bad but there is so much crap on it that I just can't see the car.

I agree. The colour isn't so bad (think: hallucenegenic lime green), and I really like the gull wings. The back doors should be suicided.
But those wheels have to go.
Edit: From the kick panel inside of the doors - did that car used to be silver birch?

Now your talking. I love suicide doors...
Many years ago, my dad had a white Lincoln 4 door convertible with suicide doors. I loved the stories about the doors flying open when crossing rail road tracks. He sold it before I was born but I have found a picture or two with part of the car in it. Someday I hope to own one of my own :D

Very cool doors, I'd take 'em. The color isn't too bad either. The rims on other hand, I'm not a huge fan of. Overall, I mean at least it's something different.

Good thing the owner didn't check here before puttin on those rims, otherwise he would have been told they wouldn't fit.

The wheels are a little over the top; but the color ain't bad -- obviously well done (but not my style). :pimp: :duel: :pimp:
Would have been great in high school to match the school colors. Should have been a standard color option from F/L/M.

Yeh! What he said.
But there's more. As a mustang collector, and I believe any collector car, for that matter, it makes little sense to take a rare collectible car and butcher it. For instance, using Mustangs as examples, lets say you wanted to turn a '65 or '66 fastback into a Shelby GT 350 copy. Your project car would be one of the least common configurations, wouldn't it? I mean you wouldn't start with a "K" engine GT would you? Or say, take a '67 Shelby GT 500 KR and turn it into a standard Mustang. Isn't it the same thing? Bottom line, and what I'm having trouble with here, the guy has taken what many of us think is a future collector car and done that to it. Never mind the startup cost. I mean, why didn't he start with a Gran Marquis?
I don't care what anyone says, the color is retarded, the door treatment is retarded and the wheels are retarded.
I hope that this is a photochop that was intended to get us all riled up. If it is real all I can say is :puke: :puke: :puke: (Yes, three times.)

I know a guy that has done this to his Saleen Mustang. It cost him $2000 to have it done. The one thing about it is that the doors still open the old way too. They don't open as far as they used to because of the new hinge setup.

And you guys with the blue ones thought your's were rare, how bout the rarest MM of all... the purple people eater metallic lavender laquer appearance option along with the ever popular gull wing courtesy entrance ensemble upgrade. It's marketed by L-M dealers as the "absurd crap" package and available for purchase only after regular business hours. Stunning. **exceptions apply, not available in all states** P.S. I guess we all knew that Merc division would eventually come up with a more effective marketing plan for these cars.

Really. The first truly unique marauder to show up on this site and most everyone is trash talking the car and the driver....
What if he is a member here? A paying member? Just because you all can't line up at the door to get this mod added to your lists like so many lemmings...
Maybe I'm being overly harsh here, but I don't think so. I know how welcome I would feel if I was him/her and logged on here for the first time and then came across this thread. For two seconds, put yourself in his shoes and then think about it.
If you were -not- one that I was talking about above, you get brownie points in my book.
And don't respond to this post. Just silently think about it and do the right thing going forward.
Thank you.

Anything that has been can be undone if you want to do it bad enough. Chopped top? Sure, it can be put back to original configuration. Just a matter of time and craftsmanship. On the other hand, what happened to this Marauder, I wouldn't do to a Chevy!!

I said in the other thread, not my style but its still hot rodd'n. Also think about how many cars were butchered in the 60s & 70s, axles moved up, engines changed etc. All for the sake of speed/performance. I cringe at thinking how many ram air hoods had wholes cut in them for blowers, or the rare W-27 aluminum rear end in the Olds that were scrapped for stronger ones. There is no gaurantee our MMs will be collector cars.

Who's can say he didn't?
I think it started out as a Marauder. The inside of the driver's door is Marauder, and the entire front end, as well as the rub strips on the doors. And, of course, the wheels, those rims are a dead give away. Do they look like spinners to you guys?

I'm kinda tired of the 'Barneymobile' color scheme...didn't Chrysler have that on the Neon a few years ago? The doors look trick, I like 'em....BUT those rims DO NOT FIT...AT ALL!. Are those rubber bands/rim protecters, or a poor excuse for a tire?? I bet the driver doesn't have a filling left in his mouth after the first few potholes....Anyway, lots of hours & $$$ put into that ride.

...didn't Chrysler have that on the Neon a few years ago?
I think the Neon's color was called "Periwinkle" ... a couple shades lighter than the Marauder above. I tend to stick with basic colors like Black, Blue, Red and Silver. Periwinkle?? :dunno: The Neon's got worse 'cause the paint wouldn't adhere well at all. Then there were lots of Periwinkle Leprosy mobiles. :run:

Those doors are probably bolt ons and can be quickly changed back. There are a ton of companies selling bolt on kits (some companies require welding). Here's one example of a bolt on kit:
www.autologic.com
http://www.autoloc.com/products/lambo.lasso
The wheels on the purple MM look too wide for the tires.
