Just wanted to pass along some drag racing stuff that’s coming up I intend to partake in.

First up is Saturday September 4th At Milan drag way. This is a regular test and tune from 12-6pm and then form 6-9pm it becomes the import VS domestic thing they do a few times a summer. I’m going to try to get there by 2-3pm for sure with my MM.

Then on September 11th is the NMRA race at Martin Drag way in Michigan. This is sanctioning body I typically like to run with all summer but didn’t have the time to make any more of their races this past summer other then their first race which was back in Late February early March in FL. They have a mod motor specific class that our MM’s fit into.

And then the big day that I have at Ubly drag way is set for October 16th.

Just thought I’d pass some of this along for any one interested.

I'll be there Oct 16 to cap off the season.

The 2 Sept dates will be tricky as I'll be out of town most of the week in between. I'll have to pay it by ear.

Thanks for the heads up!

If I am not working I will try to make them. Remember, you owe me a race day!!!!

The Ubly thing started about 10 years ago, when me and a friend started picking a day in the fall where all the local street racers and drag racers could go and get some grudge racing and smack-talk settled. Its just a regular Test & Tune Saturday that’s always been in mid October. Its a totally unorganized event if you want to call it an event. Over the years its become named the “Lidio Day” or “Alternative Auto” day. It usually about $15.00 to get in and race all day. It nothing more then a test and tune where you can line up with your buddies or your nemesis. Its gotten quite busy over the years. The weather ends up being in the 50’s to 60’s making for some prime drag racing air.

Thanks

After going last year as the camcorder guy I will be there with some high octiane fuel and with some cool weather maybe I can dip into the 14s with my still bone stock Marauder.

Hey Lid....I noticed the private day at Norwalk Sept. 8th wasn't on your list.

You folks not joining us for free-for-all no waiting lines day at one of the best tracks in Ohio?

Glad to hear this. I won't be able to make this event, but NMRA has an annual event at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA that I will certainly attend next spring since there is a class we can run the MM in.
Thanks

$15? Last year they charged me $25 or was it closer to $30? :(
And yes I went when you guys were there (I saw Hack's Cobra-Vic and Trilogy 1)

Please help as I am new.

Do you need a helmet to race?

Thanks in advance for the help!

At Ubly they do not require helmets, i think, for cars slower than 13.99/14.00

For cars faster than 14, you do need one (Snell M00 or SA00 is recommended)

Basically Ubly follows the NHRA rules. If you race at some bass ackwater stinkhole like Lapeer - you need a helmet even if you run 50 second 1/4 miles.

Well, no helmet, then I will be there.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
