Well in the skads of rain we are having from this tropical storm/Hurricane "Gaston"....I decided to nail it this AM and BOY did it spin until the Trac Control kicked in!!! :cool4: It was kind of crazy since it took about a second of spinning to activate.....At that point the throttle was cut back and possibly some rear brake action while the Trac Light was blinking!!

It straightened up in a flash and I was on my way!!

Can't say that it would do much with normal driving under wet conditions but I could definitely see the advantage in SNOWY conditions.......What am I saying....We don't have snow here!!! :dunno:

The "Love Affair" continues!!!

Traction control is an excellent feature on any slippery road condition. IMO

I never needed it w/those great Michelin Arctic Alpine snow tires that I had on all four corners last winter. I drove through 4 major snow storms BEFORE the roads were plowed and my Marauder got me up many steep and long hills w/only one try, and w/out fishtailing or any problems at all.And w/out studs in the tires either. Yes, my Marauder is one of the early ones w/out traction control. (those are excellent tires!!!). The first snow storm of the season caught me off-guard, and I had to drive to work w/the factory stock tires. And w/only 2" of snow on the road.

It was impossible to start off from a standstill on flat road w/out fishtailing no matter how light I went w/the gas pedal. I dreaded having to come to a stop every time I caught a red light, because I would hold-up all the traffic behind me when the light turned green because it took so long to get the car moving again!!!! And forget about getting up even the smallest hills!!! But the Arctic Alpine tires fixed all of that. I didn't mean to change the topic, I just want new Marauder owners to realize what a difference these tires make in the snow for RWD cars.

Yes, it is nice isn't it?

Not to critisize, but if I lived in a place with 4 months of snow and ice on the roads I would have bought the Sable with the 24 valve V6, which by the way I've heard will outrun me stock in the 1/4 mile.

yeah, but you don't live in a place like that, do you? And I haven't run across any car yet that has a V6 that can keep up w/mine, nor would I ever buy an ugly Sable anyway.
