I was at an event Sunday night called "Arts du Jour". It is a charity event held every year with a lot of "who's who" of the Detroit area. I only went because my girlfriend's cousin got us tickets and there was free food. As I pulled in the lot I noticed Bentleys, Porsches, Mercedes', and a lot of higher end cars. After the event the valet brought my car around and you should have seen the people looking at it. The valet got out and said "nice car". I thought this was cool since he gets to drive all these expensive, fancy cars. This in it self was worth me going. People love this car.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I've had women who were sitting in the passenger seats of BMW's that cost more than twice as much as a Marauder does, just peering at my car. I've also seen guys w/very expensive Mercedes cars doing the same even when I was driving very mellow. It's nice to be able to purchase go-fast parts for our Marauders, and to modify them, and make real hotrods out of them too. But one of the coolest things about them are the classy looks that they have. There's nothing quite like them on the street, and there's so few of them, that you often get alot of heads turning where ever you drive them....... cool cars:cool4:

In May I stayed at a really nice hotel in Old Montreal. I am not sure but I think it was a 5 star.

Anyway, all of the valets loved driving the car. They get lots of the high end jobs to drive, too. In fact, they so much as made comments to the effect that, even though they get to drive the really high end cars they like driving American Muscle just as much.

The feedback I have been getting from my trip to the Pike is also cool. It seems like all of the stang guys know about the car and have a respect for it. I have been posting on their BBS and more than one has come out of the woodwork to say that they have seen my car, like the sound, and are looking forward to seeing us again.

Apparently, Frank and I made quite a racket at the Pike on Saturday. One guy said, "I saw you guys tearing up the Pike."

It is very cool indeed to own a Marauder.

I know what you mean, Darryl. It's amazing how valets will fawn all over the MM - just like that "Eye-talian" iron out there.

Last year, I drove the MM to Monterey (California) for the celebration of Ford's 100th Birthday at the Monterey Historic Automobile Races. My wife and I went to dinner at Roy's at the Inn at Spanish Bay (on 17-mile Drive near Pebble Beach). The Lamborghini Club stays there that weekend, as does the Bentley Club. So I valet the car, and when I come out I see it was parked right up by the front door of the Lodge. Here's the lineup:

Black Bentley 4-door
Red Ferrari 360
Red Ferrari Testarossa
Silver Birch Mercury Marauder
Yellow Pantera
Silver Ferrari 250 SWB
Yellow Lamborghini Gallardo (pre-introduction)

(I wish I'd had a camera!)

When the valet gets out of the car after driving it about 80 feet (and earning a $20 for his perspicacity) he says, with eyes as wide as saucers, "What IS this? I get to drive EVERYTHING and I've never seen anything like this." So I told him about Kenny Brown and 'the rest of the story.' Quite a night.

People love this car.
It's not just the valets, people in parking lots, or at the gas station. Last weekend while I was hand washing my MM and doing a wheel wipe-out, a gang of young (13-15 yr old) skateboarders walked by. A couple of them stopped to ogle the car and one of them finally said, "Nice car, you are stylin' and pimpin' with that one." I took that as a compliment ... right?? :high5:

Maggiano's in Chicago is a fairly popular Italian joint in Chi-town. The valets used to always park my Impala SS right up front. The MM gets the same spot.
kinda cool!
