As I have said before "People Love This Car!"
Just this evening I was waiting at a red light, and a GM pulled up to the right of me. Old guy (no disrespect), easily in his seventies, with his wife in the passenger seat.
He looked over, then suddenly grinned, ear to ear. He started to tap his wife's shoulder, not taken his eyes of the car. Could make out what he said to her, but she began to shake her head (as if to say "you foolish old man")... He gave me the thumbs up, and I smiled and nodded back.
As the light turned green, he motioned his fingers in a rotational movement, as if to say "give'r the gas!!"
I obliged, and got up the the speed limit, quickly. He was obviously trying to keep pace (not exactly a contest, is it). I began to slow, to pull into the strip mall, on the left. As he passed, he honked his horn, grinned and stuck his hand out the window and waved, the wife still shaking her head...
It never ceases to amaze onlookers, or me;)

I was getting my windshield replaced today and after they were done with it all the employees in the shop came out to look at the car and ask me questions about it. Not one knew what a Marauder was before today (bummer) but they all really dug it. Many commented on how good it sounded. The guy that drove it around from the work bay to the front said: "Seems like it's got a lot of torque."
Our cars seem to get a lot of love wherever they go. :cool4:

I've always liked Cadillacs. I think owners of "full figured" Caddys and Mercs are kindred spirits of sorts, preferring the luxury of North American V8 sedans.
I too had a Caddy "thumbs-up" encounter a couple months back. I was waiting at a stop light with the road to myself. The road ahead switches from 45 to 65 mph just across the street as it dumps onto a divided highway 1/8 mile ahead... one of my favorite stretches of flat road when I can get it to myself. I notice a Cadillac Seville coming up from the rear in the left lane about 100 yards back while the cross light is turning yellow.
Not thinking anything about the Caddy coming up but just wanting to take advantage of the clear intersection and a shot at the short, flat streach of two lane 65 mph road, I squeeze off a 5-1/2 second 0-60 mph run on the G-Timer as the Caddy tucks in behind me to merge right onto the highway. As I get over far right to catch my exit off the highway, the Caddy pulls up along side and starts honking wildly. I peek under the visor and see a middle-aged couple waving excitedly and mouthing "nice car!" I give them a :up: right back at them and we part ways. Maybe they just never seen a Marauder in action before.
Yes, BigSlim nailed it.

When i picked up my trunk organizer ,a few weeks ago, at the local Ford dealer three [3] people came out in aw;
1. a 50'ish customer getting his oil changed.. gawked at it & watched me install the organizer & answer questions from the other spectators... he was a captive audience.
2. the service writer [i know him from work on my SVT Focas] loves the car.
3.last of all the gorky wrench.........he came out & just stood there in his drunken [infiguratively not physically] stare...... then blerted out " I thought these things only came in black " ...After a breaf history, color choice , & explanation of the power plant...He stumbled back to his bay in the garage.......I'm sure the high wore off later that day....... :party: :turkey:

I have had over 40 cars in the last 30 years. My MM has turned more heads and received many more positive remarks than all of the others combined!
