MARAUDER S/C #5

Thought I would share this appearance mod with you guys.
After having my rims widened, I noticed how the bead from the weld was showing between the spokes of the rim, so I decided to paint the inside of the rims to try to hide it. Not only did this help hide the weld but it really defined the spokes of the rim. If you have stock rims and a few miles on your car you will notice the inner rims have an orangy/brownish metal look. This is the perfect solution to the problem. Check it out...

I lightly sanded the inner rim and then cleaned with Simple Green. Then using masking tape I taped the area between the spokes on the polished side right where it meets the unpolished side to keep the paint from getting on the polished part of the rim. I used Rustoleum Gloss Black. You will need to do at least two coats. Paint should be dry to the touch before reapplying. I did the rear rims first then did the front and let them dry overnight. I then repeated the process the next day. This is also a good time to paint the calipers also, using caliper paint made to withstand the heat. Make sure the paint is completly dry before driving the car or the road grit will stick to it.
This really brings out the spokes of the wheel. I also think it would look nice on the blue cars to paint the inner rim a matching blue. And the DTR's could paint the inners DTR. Silver cars could use black or silver although the silver would not be that noticeable. And for those of you with black rims you could use silver or chrome paint. This is an easy appearance mod that really dresses up the rims. Let me know what you guys think.
