The drivers side seat had a sharp piece of metal poking thru the
leather on the far left side in back ( part of seat frame ). It wore a hole about 3/8" in the seat & pad.
They ordered a new leather seat and pad, replaced them and adjusted
seat frame.

Glad I caught it before warrenty was up 36K.
Be sure to.....Check your seats. :bounce:

Checked mine and found the same split but not quiet as large as yours. Almost looks like a puncture mark from someone entering vehicle with a screw driver in back pocket since I could not feel any sharp object anywhere...

Did the new leather match the original leather ????

Thanks for the tip !!!!!!!!

Donald,

Yes, I thought at first that I had done it but the service tech. at WC Ford,
Cobra dealer kept pushing his finger in the hole and found the square 1/8x1/4" post below that had gone through the padding and leather. He immediately ordered a replacemant and had the top auto leather co. in Walnut Creek, CA
Armand's Auto Upholstery, Inc. install it. & YES it matches perfect.

( special note: I had these same folks re-do my Marauder Bra with
twice as many holddown straps so I could drive at 80+MPH and not
have the bra pop up. )

Warren,

Thanks for the additional info, I will look into it further and advise. I may sent my front cover to Armand's for the same treatment. Mine flys up and had to stop using it for fear of damaging paint..

Thanks,

Damn, the same people that built your seats must have built the seats in the 70 Torino I had, the same problem happened, you'd think in 34 years FoMoCo would have some quality control people hired to go out to the interior places they use.
