I had the rubber Weathertech mats in my previous car, a '97 SHO. After 2 years of use my heal wore right through it.

ADE 1000,
Reason I asked is that they now have a carpeted version that can still hold a 1.5 qts. of liquid in them. Sounds inviting for the winter.

I understand. I was just so dissapointed by the durability of the rubber ones that I always mention my experience whenever someone mentions weathertech. For the high asking price, I would have expected them to last a lot longer. I bought a set of four heavy duty rubber ones from Costco and they are much more rugged than the Weathertech mats.
If you try the carpeted ones from Weathertech, let us know what you think.

Gordon - I purchased the all weather mats from a Mercury dealer. The fit is perfect and they were not expensive. You can check with Ray the dealer on this site for pricing.

I also use the All weather Ford mats in the winter.
On the West Coast it's for the rain not the snow!

I have these mats in my MM. They are the best you can get. They look great to the point where they look completely nature in the car. You won't be sorry if you get them.

I've used the weather tech mats in all my cars and have never worn thru any of them. I have the guys at the car wash hit them with some tire magic every once in a while and they still look new.
I'd be careful about the carpeted ones, my thought is that would surely start to stink after a rough winter. The water and melted slush does indeed pool a little with these mats.

Gordon; after two winters, I am very happy with the mercury logo rubber mats. I could have shown them to you at the rest stop between Indy and Auburn. FiveO saw them tuesday, he was inpressed with them. I can purchase Weather Tech and Ford parts at Wholesale, Ford mats are a better value.

Gordon: I have them in the MM now. In fact, they orginally came from my '96 Cobra. Alas, I found that the drivers side will need to be replaced, but they've been in use for about 5 years. I'll have to check on the newer version as I have the rubber ones. The drivers side, which got the most use, BTW, has torn between the ridges in several spots. :blah: :blah: :blah:
Gordon....BTW, thanks for bringing the new mats to my attention. Just went to the site and ordered the carpeted set for the beast.
