Hey all, anybody know what backspacing/offset I would need to fit an 18x9.5 inch wheel outback with 295 or 305 series tires? Really want to toughen up the look of the vicrauder a little :D
Thanks in advance,
Blake Stewart

you're '02 will have different back spacing requirements than an '03
You may also have rear wheel well flare interference.

why would i have different backspacing requirements? the rear suspensions are absolutely identical. I have the airsuspension and the watts linkage, I have seen underneath both

The MM has a rolled lip on the fenderwells for tire clearance. If you find wheels that have the right backspacing for the earlier car, you'll probably have trouble with using tires that fill the fenderwells like the MM because they will cut the sidewalls of the tires.
Now, you could possibly roll the lip like the early Mustang/Shelby.

I thought the shocks were mounted out board on the MM, are the vic's set up the same way?

I can trick my air suspension into jacking itself up a little for a rake, and I have some pretty stiff shocks, for gods sake can somebody just give me some wheel specs?

trust me, the '02 has different off set requirements. The rear suspensions are similar, but there were changes made. One being the shock placement to the outsides.
The wheel flare on the '03 is rolled back, and made slightly more pronounced as well

LightningVic: The backspacing is different because the rear end is wider on the '03. We could go out and measure the MM wheel for you but it won't help. Do you have a local dealer or know someone with a MM that will let you try out a full-size spare on the CV just to see? That may give you some ideas on backspacing requirements since you're trying to do something "special".
RCSignals: Is the flare only rolled back on the '03 MM or is it that way on the CV/GM also?

the flare is rolled back on all '03 CV/GM as well
