I don't have any further pics to post, but I will....soon.

I ran for the first time with cheater slicks. They are Mickey Thompson E/T Streets mounted on 16" wheels. They bite like no tomorrow.

I went to a track that is not known for it's quality, but a fun place none the less. I ran with my Pirrelli's that got me a 13.4 in Indy and the best I did with a ton of wheel spin was 13.9 - 14.1.

After switching to these, I consistantly ran 13.5's all night.

I am excited to try them at Norwalk, an extremely good (sticky) track, next month, to see if the 13.4 can be beat.

These are bias ply tires, and there is some end of track wiggle...but it's nothing I cannot hold on to.

*Big thanks to SGTMAC for donating both the Pirrelli's AND the mounted M/T's. :bows:

What size MT is that? What is the rim size and back spacing? I've been thinking of going that route and after seeing the picture I've just decided.:)

Not sure about the specifics of the 16 x 8" rim....it does stick out a bit. Enough to throw rubber onto my back window and decklid!!! THAT'S a first. :baaa:

The M/T'S are 28 x 11.50 16 ET Streets, and stick like no tomorrow!

If you get a chance can you measure the back spacing on those wheels for me?

Good results, Barry. I've been trying to find the right wheels in 16", and it would be helpful if you could get us the backspacing info for these. Thanks buddy!:burn:

OK...someone may need to refresh me as to the proper method of measuring backspacing...

I took a ruler and layed it across the the backside of the wheel rim. I then measured from the hub, where the lug holes are, to that ruler, and got 5-5/8 inches.

Is that what you want?

Barry could you post the make and manufacture of the rims you are using and also include the approximate cost. I am very interested in a dedicated drag tire setup, and it looks like you got the right idea. :burn:

The best I can offer, as I did not buy these wheels, they were a gift/donation to the 'cause'.....they have an inscription on them. "VIA" in addition to a strange marking that appears as a capital J that runs into a same size lower case u. "Ju"

wow, if you got an electric water pump, cams, a different tune for the cams, and an extrude honed intake manifold, you could probably run 12s all motor. Lucky you, I was barely able to break into the 13s on the motor with my 2v. Although I didnt have long tube headers. Good times though.
