Greetings All,
I am now (or will be this evening) the proud owner of an '04 Silver MM. Had been looking at 03's and this one showed up with 9,000 on the clock. Looks like it just came out of the showroom. I can't wait to go pick it up- the trek to the dealership is 200 miles, and it will probably seem like a longer trip to get there today than it did driving home Tuesday night after checking it out! :cool3:

Thanks to all of you that responded to my '03 questions a week or so ago. Who was offering the Oasis reports and is the offer still on?

Well, I got the Marauder home late Thursday night, and I finally realized what you all were talking about with that smile that wipes across you face when you first start it up! It hasn't stopped yet! This is such a perfect car- smooth but strong. It's the perfect combination of elegant and stealth, makes you wonder why they are still sitting around on the lots. Although I realize the segment of the car buying market for this awesome machine is just barely a hairline of the whole market pie. As far as I'm concerned, Mercury finally got it oh-so-right with this one.

I bought the Marauder to drive, not to become obsessed about like I did with my Cobra convertible that I sold last year. I drive between 28K to 35K each year, and I have no doubt that with proper maintenance this machine will endure. I had a GM that I only drove on rare occasions for work and with 177K on the clock it still drives like new. My 250K Volvo also held up well until right at the end when I lost faith in it and traded it to a guy to do some concrete work and grind up 6 tree stumps!

The Marauder is everything I had hoped it would be and more.

woaface, I don't think I'm ready to part with the '69 Marquis convertible- I searched for that one for a while and had to haul it 800 miles to get it home, so it will probably stay for the duration. I learned to drive on a '69 Marquis, which is why I had to have it. It's one of 1100 made and one of less than 200 remaining. You don't 'drive' a '69 Marquis, you 'navigate' it. Trust me on this one- that huge steering wheel and steering gear ratio really take you back in time- in tight traffic it seems like 27 turns lock-to-lock!

Y'all keep the site running and many, many thanks for its presence. I'll check in often.

69 Marquis 2 door HT was my first 4 wheeler also. That 429 was tons of fun. I borrowed my grandfather's Dart to take the driving test. No way I was going to try and parralel park with that land yacht. I kept it moored during the test. Great car!

Welcome to the site and I'm sure your going to love your new Merc.

Any Year...Any Color...New / Used *as long as it was well documented. Buying this car puts you in a special place in AMERICAN Automotive History. There wasn't many made but the few that have them. All seem to rave about them and seem to be very happy with the choice they made for themselves... Smart Choice & Enjoy the Smile you will be sporting for a long time!!
