My car has been in the shop all week. They replaced the front springs, sway bar bushings, valve cover gaskets, and now they are waiting on some parts for the tranny.

i cant wait to see the final list of parts.......i thought I read that they replace the air filter. Hello......I have a K&N, they better not have replaced it.

But from what I have heard, it shouldnt take more than 3 hours for the rear end gear replacement.

I had it done on my durango, and it was only $250.
This dealer claims it takes 6.5 hours. I am guessing that if the tech claims it takes 6.5 hours to do it, he is probably not the one I want to install it.

To anyone in So Cal, who did you have install your gears....
NBC shooter, I think I saw you the other day....but I was in my truck.

I have had all of my mods installed and all of my maintenance done by Mike Hess at Sunrise Ford in North Hollywood. He is a great guy and they do excellent work. I know you would be happy with them.

Just had mine installed a few weeks ago. I was in and out in around 2.5 hours. Run from 6.5 and find an SVT dealer.

Anything over 4 hours on the rear gears is unacceptable.

....barring unexpected issues that is.

6.5 is the book rate for a gear swapout. They're not out of line, but it can be done faster and cheaper than at a dealer in most cases.
