I was thinking about changing the gears to a 4:10 and getting the superchips microtuner. My cars best run was 15.1 all stock except a K&N air filter. What do you guys think this will run with the gears and compuetr upgrade? Also what are the stock gears? Thank you!

Stock gears are 3.55.
A change to 4.10's and a chip modification should bring .2 drop in ET's in the 1/4.
A good custom chip from someone like Lidio at www.alternativeauto.com should drop it more.
Just my opinion.
Good luck!

Yes 4:10's are fine, stock gears are 3:55's. Hard to say what a tune and gears will yield, but I believe it would be safe to say 14.6 is reasonable to expect.

I had them in my old MM and next week I will be putting them into my new MM. There is quite a difference with them. You will not be sorry.

I have that exact mod. 4.10's and Lidio's chip. My best runs prior to the mods were consistant 15.1's. After the mods I ran 14.60's. I couldn't hook up very well, and it was warm and humid. I will post more results after wednesday. Cool and dry is expected. I'll let you know.

When you said "you could'nt hook up " were you break torque'in to get a better launch?or was the that much additional wheel slip on stomping the go pedal too far too fast

The 4.10' best improvement is the seat of the pants meter.
You will not be disappointed.
Went for a ride with the wife and really through her back.

You might consider calling Dennis Reinhart and get a price on the gears and reflash from him.

Tried it both ways. Each technique resulted in wheel spin on launch. At the line I would hold about 1200 rpm on launch...resulted in wheel spin. Other times I'd go from a dead punch...resulted in wheel spin as well. I also think the track had something to do with it too. I believe Dragway 42 is notorious for having a slick track. I'm going to Norwalk wednesday night. Curious to see the difference. BTW...no matter how many hot laps I did...never ran slower than 14.80's.

If you're not hooking-up off the line w/merely a chip and 4.10 gears, then the track isn't prepped very well at all. I've been told that if you go to the track on weeknights, then you'll often have this problem since many tracks are only prepped for the wekends unless there's an unusually major event going on during the week.
BTW, when I had just a chip and the 4.10 gears, my car also yielded an ET reduction of .50 seconds.

Billy,
You are right, the track is famous for not being properly prepped during the week. Unfortunately, I work through every single weekend, 10 hour days, so I can't go to the track on the weekends. Norwalk is much more professional, and I ran my best stock time at that track. If everyone wants to get technical my best stock run was a 15.199 and my best run so far since the 4.10s and chip is a 14.656. This equals a .543 reduction in ET. Well worth it in my book. Hope to run even better tomorrow evening. I'll post results then.

Well...yet another best happened last night. Norwalk's Whup-Ass Wednesday. I ran my best time on a very well prepped track.
60ft 2.175 1/8th 9.327@77.09 1/4 mile 14.429@96.38
I made 3 runs last night...
14.429 @ 96.38
14.438 @ 96.55
14.475 @ 96.29
From my best stock time to my best modded time the chip and 4.10 gear mods yielded a .770 total reduction in my ET's from stock.
Hope this helps anyone thats on the fence with this mod.

Thanks RF! Needless to say...I was very surprised...and extremely pleased! Keep in mind I weigh 300lbs! I'd love to see what times Barry would get in this car!
