I am looking at a 2004 Silver Marauder with 7 miles on the clock...are there things about the cars that you don't like? I had a 99 Vic before I bought this truck, now I think I want to go back to the panther platform. How does the car break in? or what breaks, any common issues? I test drove it last night and it seemed pretty nice. I have not been here in such a long time, excuse my profile and such if they still say 99 Vic...been a while.

Welcome back Rider90,There are a few(several) minor issues/grips with the MM none will stop you from becoming an avid fan of the car and this site!Go right back to the dealer and purchace the Marauder.(provided they treated you well and they are offering you an excellent deal!)I live in Lake co. as well where are you looking to buy?

Merc seems to have cured the few ills in 04 that there were in 03, from what I've read here. I thought I'd have that "damn, I miss that car" when I let my heavily modded 00 ZX3 go. Not one moment of remorse since I picked up my 04 DTR. I bought her sight unseen. Buy the MM, you won't be sorry.:2thumbs:

I really hate the fact my Marauder is so fast and handles well.
Its also waaaay to comfortable for me. I'll have to do something about that.

Downsides:
1) As the engine breaks in, you'll have to adjust to better acceleration.
2) Your other cars will get jealous.

I had a 99 Vic before I bought this truck, now I think I want to go back to the panther platform. How does the car break in? or what breaks, any common issues? I test drove it last night and it seemed pretty nice. I have not been here in such a long time, excuse my profile and such if they still say 99 Vic...been a while.Buy that Marauder just as quickly as you can! Very soon, you won't be able to buy a new Marauder. I think from what I've read in this forum, most of the teething pains of the new model in 2003 were worked out for 2004. My Marauder is a 2004 model and it doesn't have any, I repeat, any of the problems that some 2003 owners have experienced. It is the absolute joy to own and drive that I thought it would be. On top of the excellent all-around performance, you've still got a very luxurious, roomy, comfortable and safe family sedan. I know that last comment seems strange when you consider the Marauder's ultra performance statement.
Some potential Marauder buyers are scared off by the premium fuel issue. I'm not, because I only drive 15 miles a day to work and back, and I average 17 MPG. It's a non-issue for me. Once you own your own Marauder, you'll have the chance to highly modify it, if you want. Remember, that you have a really great V8 engine in the Marauder that can be opened up to incredible levels of horsepower and torque. And everything mechanical in the Marauder is genuine heavy duty performance stuff, that can really take it! I think that's what I like the most about my Marauder. It's just the "real deal"! No phony stripes and silly ass car names. Just all performance related chassis, brakes, trans., V8 engine, steering, tires and wheels. Nothing you have to feel like you need to appolgize for. I've owned some "performance" cars in the past that just didn't have it all together. They felt slapped together with off the shelf junk parts. They were built to look the part, but they never had the built-in guts.
Yes, if you buy it you won't regret it. You'll enjoy the sound of the engine everytime you start it up. You'll enjoy the feeling of the smooth, even, powerful acceleration every time you drive it. You'll enjoy liting up your Marauder from time to time and dusting off the lesser cars. You'll enjoy answering all of the questions everyone asks when they see your Marauder. You'll enjoy the admiring glances other drivers will give your Marauder. Oh yes, you'll most definitely really love your Marauder!

...are there things about the cars that you don't like?
Not one thing that I can think of ........... I enjoy this ride more than any other I have ever owned. Actually, I look forward to going to work in the morning just for the ride. It's fun, it's sleek, it's distinctive, it's unique in a sea of look-alikes, and it's fast. Did I mention I like it? Enough said.

Wooohooooo
Its normal to take it from the dealers lot and add 150 miles to it the first day/night you have it right? I love it. It sounds so nice, the shifter is solid, it looks good, and the seats are superb. Definatly don't regret this. In my area it is also unique, there is only one other person near me that I've seen drive a Marauder. Other than that they are pretty much not even heard of...

Get it while you still can! I just picked up my Marauder 6 days ago and all those little things that haunt us before making a decision like this were out the window long before I got it home. I've logged 1250 miles on it already and it is absolutely an incredible machine. More luxury than those overpriced foreign cars and it's swept along effortlessly by a finely engineered American V8. It's like nothing else you'll run up against and those you pass will know it too. Make the move to Marauder.
No Regrets.
