Porter Cable Random Orbital Polisher

Has anybody tried this unit ?

From what I've read it's supposed to give a great swirl free finish without the risk of burning or damaging the paint , even by a relatively new user .

I have one and am very pleased with it. I prefer meguiers #9 Hi Tec swirl remover.

I have a Sears orbital polisher. I don't use it to put wax on, only for removal. Works great. I finish up with a lambs wool pad. That really brings out the shine.

I am with Ray. I use an 8 in random orbit buffer on mine just to remove wax or polish. But I use a very light mist of Eagle one Deatiler on the pad. Works for me!

Works great !! I put the Zaino on with it & take it off with it. The way it rotates, there is no way you can damage your paint. This is in no way like a body shop type buffer.

I think it is also important to point out that you can use different types of pads. A "cutting" pad, a"polishing" pad as well as a "finishing" pad. I only use the polishing and finishing pads on my car.

I have one and used it on a black corvette with no problem. Buy quality foam pads and polish from Gratiots Garage. You can buy the same polisher at Loews much cheaper than Gatriots though.
