If you are looking for some protection for the front of your Marauder (or any car), I'd recommend the X-Pel clear bra. Have it installed on my black Marauder, it covers the entire front of the car and the backs of the rear view mirrors. It looks good, ie. you can't see it from 10 feet away. Up close there is a thin line visable where the plastic starts. Next I'm going to get the front light package installed to protect all the lights in front including the fog lights and get a price on covering the top of the rear bumper. Here is their website if you are interested:

Disclaimer: I have no interests in X-Pel or any of their installers.

I'd be interested too in pictures on your car. A few questions aswell, Is this more for just bugs, becuase I really dont see how it can help with road debris. And then is it easier to wash? If seen posts about it (or something close to it) befor but never heard anyone have it.

A neigbor has it on his Nissan. I think it looks terrible. Not only can you see the line, it is obvious where the plastic is. I'd rather repaint the front of the car as required.

Someone posted pics of a silver with this on it. It was very visible. On a black car it will be even more obvious.

This is a really good idea, but it needs more work before it's ready. I have noticed it's the edges that get the most hits on the hood anyway, and the one I saw didn't cover the edges.

Considered it when the vehicle was purchased, however, like others have said would rather go the re-paint route should it be warranted. *Another thought - if the damage was severe enough to breach the X-pel ( i.e. BFR - Big F'king Rock ), re-painting would be a PITA.

Now on the headlights that's a different story ... a recent event has necessitated replacing both and am comtemplating X-pel'ing 'em.

My Mercedes G 55 comes with this factory installed on the rear wheel wells. Sure you can see it, but it keeps the paint from chipping.

I had the Xpel kit installed behind the front and rear wheel wells of my Corvette when it was brand new. When first installed, I thought it blended in quite well. The car is now about 4 years old, and the shields are starting to yellow and are noticable. Keep in mind this car has only covered 14,000 miles during that time and is only driven in the best of conditions. I was dissapointed in this and I am glad I opted not to get it installed on the hood and front bumper for appearance reasons.

However, I am happy at the rock protetection they provide. The areas in which they are installed are not areas I would want to repaint. If these areas were as suseptable to chips on the Marauder I would probably do the same. I believe the product has a lifetime warranty against yellowing, so you can get them replaced down the road if needed.

Might have to put this on the rear bumper cover right behind the rear wheels to help with burned rubber :D

I have installed it on the forward-facing rear fascia in the rear wheel wells ( 2 MMs) in addition to splash guards, but not on the outside of the rear fascia or on the front bumper.

Gordon, we have a flier from their booth at Carlisle, and the process and install seem interesting. It was ~ $500 for a complete job at their shop in Mechanicsburg. John's thinking about it for his new dark blue truck, and the Mach I. We'll bring the stuff along to the next cruise we attend.
