I just starting planning on what I can start buying for my 03' MM. For my first Mod's what should I start with under $1,000.00. I am assuming a chip would be first, but which one???:help:

4.10 gears and a chip.
Best bang for your buck first mods out there.
Either Lidio at Alt. Auto or Dennis at Reinhart Auto would be fine for the chip.

Spiderplow,
I started with the rear end -- Zack & Mack Rear control arms and the bigger rear Addco sway bar with Poly bushings. If you like firm rear ends, this is the first mod to do.

Throw 5k more into the pot and get the S/cer.do it now before you spend more to get to that point anyway... :burn:

I really don't want to touch on this, but you better be glad Joan's not on the board and read that comment!

Best bang for the buck for under $1000 is the 410 gears and chip. Check with Lidio at Alternative Auto Performance for his setup or Dennis Reinhart at Reinhart Performance for his setup. Either way you won't go wrong.

Yes, firm rear ends are also nice in cars, too... :coolman:
My MM is stock, but I completely plan on doing 4.10s and Chip from Lidio, once the winter ends. This is virtually everyone's first mod and/or first suggested mod (unless they step right up to a supercharger)...

When I make the upgrade to the Kooks headers what kind of sound can I expect. I use this car as my daily driver and need to take customers out sometimes. I have had plenty of old cars with headers but I am wondering what to expect while driving down the highway at 70mph with the MM.

Email me at mghlady@charter.net and I'll send you a couple clips.
They're not the best but it will give you an idea.

Add a K&N Drop In filter for $35.
It will ENHANCE anything you do...
You can also get rid of the J-Tube (resonator) on the intake by either replacing the whole tube with the Carbon Fiber one offered,
or simply visit Home Depot, buy a 2" Pipe Cap and a 2.5" - 3" clamp.
You paint the Pipe Cap Flat Black, swap out the pipe cap for the J-Tube, and the clamp holds everything in place.

I would expect that your customers would be IMPRESSED !
I've had several people ride in my Marauder, but I don't have headers...yet.
Everyone has left with the Marauder impression firmly implanted in their memory.
Now when they see me pull up, the grin returns to their face immediately !

I hear what your saying on the S/Cer. I was hoping to get either the Reinhardt or Trilogy installed next year, and first start with the little things.

The rule here is: Don't put on stuff you're gonna have to trash due to a later upgrade. Rear end change/shiny hiney option, and a chip that's going to be compatible with whatever SC you're gonna end up with is a good start. Begin thinking about the final version, first, and add the good, cheap stuff now. Oh, and a performance drive shaft and loop might still be within your kilobuck target. :burnout:
I'm still stock & considering going w/ the chip & 4.10s.
What is the performance upgrade I can expect ????
Can someone please give me an opinion on this upgrade to a stock car.
1). Will I be able to light the tires up w/ out having to power brake it ???
2). Will it chirp second gear in "drive" w/o manually shifting from low 1 to 2 ??
3). Am I correct by saying that DR calls his package a "Stage 1" that includes:
chip, 4.10s, plugs, & thermostat ????
4). What is a ball park estimate for kit & installation????
5). Is there a "Stage 1" badging available for the exterior ??.
thanx

Choosy Marauder owner choose Jiff:P
