I just read a review in the Gannet chain of newspapers on a demo 05 Mustang GT. They REALLY liked the car, except for the solid rear and some other minor stuff.
The thing is, the article indicated about 305 horsepower.
I'm guessing here that Ford is using the aluminum 4v in more cars.
Maybe it is the 3v motor I've been hearing about?
Just speculating

I believe the new Mustangs have the 3V motor...

It's the 3 valve motor rated at 300HP @ 5750RPM & 320TQ @ 4500RPM. And that's with using 87 octane gas.
Just my .02 and then some.

Yep, it's the 3 valve engine.
I thought it was once called the "Triton," but I didn't know it made those numbers on 87 octane.
Okay...Where do I sign?

Patrick I just read the booklet Ford sends it's Dealers pointing out highlights of the "new" Mustang. They have some great cutaway shots of the head with the design showing.

Ford has several of the Triton motors in the F(pick-up's) & E(vans) models. Their is a V-8 and V-10 :) I have two vans at work with the V-10's and they are a blast to drive :P
All of these run on regular gas with the V-10 getting about 1.5 MPG better than the V-8:)

I guess your foot isn't to the floor as compared to a van with the V8.
