Just noticed that you ran a personal best, you are nipping at the heels of the S/C's on nothing but throttle, you have a very special car and your efforts and hard work are paying off dividends....I believe a N/A MM. will eventually get into the 12's....my money is on you. :bows: :bows: :bows:

Don't let him fool you, Javier; his car's not completely N/A...Barry actually owns the world's only hybrid Marauder...he has a 100 HP electric motor in the trunk...go ahead, ask him to open the lid and see what what excuse he gives... :banned: :run:

....I believe a N/A MM. will eventually get into the 12's....yeah sure if the owner in question wants to open up the engine and throw some bigger cams in, port the cylinder heads, and add some higher compression pistons to bump up the compression ratio to 11.0:1 then an N/A Marauder will get into the 12's but by the time that's said and done, the owner in question would be spending just as much $$ for the engine build-up as he would've for a S/Cer kit, if not more. Not to mention that the engine wouldn't have to be opened up to install the S/Cer kit, so what would be the point in that?
And BTW, I bet you that if you were to add up all the mods that Barry already has put into his car for go-fast stuff, you would find that he's already come pretty close to only a thousand bucks short of what it would have cost for a S/Cer to begin with. I certainly know how that is. And that might even be a conservative estimate on my part. That doesn't neccessarily mean that anything he has done to his car is wrong. This is the choices that he's made for HIS car. But let's see it for what it is. And that is simply HIS choice. But he does have the baddest and fastest N/A Marauder on the planet that I know of. Good goin' Barry. :banana2:

Thanks Mr. X....and others.:D
I believe I am at my momentum's limit...maybe tenth either way, but I am truley satisfied with what I have accomplished for the moment. Got a few more tricks, but not until next year.

.... Got a few more tricks, but not until next year.It would be special if the SS guys at the shootout could see what a N/A MM. with untouched internals can do.
It may help to dispel some of the myths about the MM. some of them believe to be true.:cuke:

Man, I just can't seem to keep up with the times... in my day, it was the back seat where all the action happened.
Now it's the trunk?

First you bake the cake(motor) then add the icing(s/cer) and then you hit 10's
Congratulation Barry !!! Well deserved as the time money and effort that went into your master peice.A truly inspirational n/a car.:nworthy:

VERY nice work getting that thing going like that, Barry!
Do you realize there are only 5 known NA ImpalaSS's with stock cam and heads that are quicker?
It's great to see you're not letting the ci handicap keep you down. Instead, you're just showing everybody how to take advantage of the great high-rpm flow of the DOHC top end.
Congratulations! And keep pushing it.

I looked in the trunk and all I saw was a styrofoam cooler and 3 bags of ice.
Nice going Barry .... a class act and fun to watch. You even had the announcer fooled with that invisible S/C he thought you had. :D

Yea, yea, yea. But, it was only my first time at the track! I ran 13.3 constantly all night long, with my fastest time of 13.32. Then I broke out in my first qualifing around by only .02 seconds with a 13.30 . Oh yea I lost to Ladyhawke.
Congratulations Barry. :bows:
But in the words of Arnold, "I'll be back."
Congratulations to Gavin, the fat bastid, 1st place you are the man. And you had doubts about coming, but 400 good reasons you did.
...and Congratulations to John, Jet, man that car is mean.
I had a real good time and will be doing it again in the future, I am going to have to beat Barry's time.

Damn...thanks for all the good words. Makes me feel kinda mushy....:puke:
I have one more trick up my sleeve to reach the 12 second club to do over the winter and test in the spring while the weather is cool.
I finally convinced a few folks about the headlight removal and it's advantages down the track.
I took JET's headlight out and he hit an ET MPH of 119!
I feel bad I didn't get to watch everyone race, but when it's a money race, I kinda go into my own little box and run around like a mad man.
I would also like to add, ANYONE has the ability to tune an N/A Marauder to run this well.
All of our N/A Maraauders can be tweaked over time, and I would love to see one of the '04's take the route I did. The '04 has that little piece of....something....that gives the potential advantage to be totally bad azz.

Haggis, losing at the track to your wife has it's benefits later on. Good planning

Same, same here .... the time at the track just flew by. Between the runs and the staging, there was not really much time to watch the other Marauders until I was "eliminated" on round 1.
