I think it was $2.069-------------but a little perspective, please.

I bought my first new car in 1967 and it required premium fuel also. Back then premium was about 35 cents a gallon. I was in my first year of engineering employment, making $675 a month.

Today's premium is about 6 times the price of 1967----------but a beginning engineer is also making $3500 to $4000 a month or about 6 times what I was making in 1967!!!!!

Oh yes, the 1967 car was lucky to get 13.5 mpg on the highway vs the 20 mpg I get with the MM. Yeah, I know my 1967 was a much faster car but there were a lot of 1967 cars that weren't any faster than an MM and still only got 12-15 mpg.

Gas is a bargain today and it only looks expensive because its been downright cheap for a long time.

I don't know what the gas price is here, all I do is wave the little thingamajig in front of the tiger it lights up and I fill my tank. When I was in NJ last weekend one Gas Station had $.85 for regular and $1.05 for premium. Only problem though is they weren't open when we passed by.

Based on those prices, I would guess that particular station has been closed since about 1989.

About $2.59 / gal for 91 Octane here in the central coast of the PRK. Of course we pay more for less because all of the major refineries are in California so they don't have to move it as far.

Er, that is, I mean... well, something like that. Actually, we pay more because the PRK tacks on about a $1.50 in taxes for every gallon to pay for everything under the sun.

I have got to get out of this GO%^&*NM socialist state. Someday, I swear...

Norm

Whether It's $1.99 or $2.59 a gallon it doesn't really matter because we have to buy it either way. Now think of it this way , Milk is more per gallon and so is Beer so when you really look at it , Gas is cheap !

Sure, I'll drive.:burnout: It'll lower our cost per gallon per person. Think we'll pass any of Jet's joints on the way?

We were on PA Rt 685 going north and passed one of those shut down stations still posting a (very) old price and almost put 'er in the ditch while turning around, only to learn what a dope I was from Barb.:argue:

Nevermind gas... price out bottled water! I bought a 1L bottle for around $1.50 the other day. That'd be $6 a gallon.
