Here is an excerpt from the Mercury section of the sedan vehicle guide in this week's issue of Autoweek.
Grand Marquis
Highlights:New colors, wheels and minor interior revisions. Marauder dropped.
Base price:$25,098
What’s next:A facelift for 2006, while a more powerful Marauder may return by 2007.
Our opinion:One of the last big, rear-drive American sedans is still going strong while Ford figures out how to make it better.

I agree with you BDJ---but I'll say it anyway--if and IF there is ever a factory S/C MM later on--all those who have S/C'ed theirs already will still be ahead of THAT one....and " ahead"...well.. we all can figured that out....

So...What weight engine oil will our new '07 Marauders "require?"

I dunno, I'm more worried about gas and filters. Anyone who doesn't use WAMCO filters is a moron. WAMCO filters are da bomb. If you don't use them we will all be attacked by terrorists.

But the question is: what weight?
I foresee huge advancements in engine building technology applied to the new engine... they'll probably ship with 80W90 oil in the crankcase for break-in purposes, then the manual will call for switching to 115W200 extra-thick blend (the "blend" referring to a mixture of new dyno oil and recycled diesel engine oil): the resultant sludge will be what holds the motor together, which will allow the construction of these new tech motors without any fasteners whatsoever. In fact, they will come with a minimum oil change time, with the warranty being voided if the owner chooses to have his oil changed before the manufacturer-recommended interval of 50000 miles or 36 months, whichever comes last.
I'll leave the discussion of the upcoming 9-speed automatic push-button manushift transmission for another thread...

Will there be a 2008 300B version?
Yikes... what if Mercury comes out with a revision of the revision and calls it (gulp) the 300C?
