yeah, let's hear the excuses now, eh?
Ya know Todd, I had that thought a few weeks back, what could LM do with a backlog of cars...Rent-A-Racer...

The problem is Todd, one has to wonder how those 3K miles were put on the car. Probably a salesman's car that may also have been used for demo. Considering the type of car the Marauder is, there's a good chance that one was test driven pretty hard by more than one person. Personally, I wouldn't want a car that possibly had been subjected to that kind of treatment (abuse). (just my .02 worth)
No offense, Stealthvic...but, 3K isn't even broken-in yet. If that would bother anyone too much, they could still pay the $28.5-$30K we've been hearing about.
My statement stands...with this type of price out there, I can't imagine anyone that really wants one having price as an excuse anymore. Completely different (and better) car than the LX Sport for this kind of "scratch"...?

I dunno... the car they're wanting to take the seats out of and put into my MM (after they funked it up with a new panel) is the owners car and has about 2000 miles on it, same as mine. BUT, what I don't like about it is that they said this:
"It's the owners car, and he's the only one who drives it, so the seats look like new."
Me-"Oh, well where's the car now?"
"One of the sales men took it how last night and is due to bring it in this morning." (It was 4:00PM during this conversation.
I DO NOT want those seats! They don't know it yet, but they ARE going to order me a new set. I just have to let them show me the car's seats, then I'm going to diss them and make them order.
Kind of irrelivent with the whole drive train of the car, but just something else to think about...
Anything done to mine (under warranty) would be NEW replacement...I agree LML.
I just opened tha paper this a.m. and saw this price, knew anyone here that's "cruising without owning" probably has a CarMax near them, and thought this would be helpful for any self proclaimed "wannabes".
Don't get me wrong...I did really good when I took delivery last June because I was on an email waitlist for a year and a half. I think we ALL own a GREAT car for under $40K (even if WE are the only ones who know it) ...but for <$27K...it's a STEAL!
now I'm up to .04?

If Carmax has a Marauder than it is not a Salesman's Demo. It must be a used Marauder. A Mercury dealer would not sell a Demo to Carmax.
As far as buying a used Marauder I would have no objections to it. Let someone else take the depreciation hit. I got a free cd-changer because mine was in the showroom with six miles on it. A couple hundred people sat in it...no big deal. My .02 cents

Why pay $27,000 for a used on when you can get a new one for $28,000.
I'd check the paint job too. Could have belonged to the Mrs.

What WofeBros said. As far as a MM rental car --- Whoopee!!! It would sure beat them Taurases (or WOULD it? -- hmmm). Personally, I bought my MM as a long term proposition cause it fills my needs, so what they do with the rest of em I could care less.
