Lapeer's timing system is always off for me... The trap speeds are 10+ mph slower than what I should get even when I drop a tenth off my ET. Anyone else experience problems with lapeer's timing system?

You're not the only one. About a month ago same thing happened to me. All but one of my time slips showed the trap speed as 10 mph slow. Another racer there confirmed this.

Thanks!

Everyone at the track looked at me like I was crazy. :burnout:

The question raised by a friend who raced at Lapeer was: If the trap speeds are off by 10+ mph, how can I trust the ET and times in general?

That's a good point. I'm all for cheap crappy tracks (Island Dragway in NJ), but they better give dead-on trap speeds and ETs.

Charley I was there Sat.My only run was 14.594@97.13 so if there off like you think that means my top speed would be 107.13 M.P.H. I think there just fine even though I can`t say that for the rest of the track.

AS 04MEMA said before, some of his runs were off.

Out of the 12 runs I made, only 3 were "right" whereas the other 9 were totally off by 10+ mph.

I have some slips from April that read 15.0x @ 81 mph. You do the math there :P

Looks like you got lucky and they "fixed" the system.

Yeah I made about 11 passes and only one or two read 93.xx mph all the rest were 83.xxx. And all these runs were between 15.019 and like 15.5. I could scan them and post them if it would help. I believe the speeds are consistently off by 10 mph, when they're off. I trust the times though. I think there's a glitch in the system that causes it to be off by exactly 10, but hey what do I know?? :cool4:

You'd think they'd spend a few bucks and get the thing fixed. I mean that's what people come to the track for!! :loco: :twocents:
