To all, I am currently looking at purchasing the Superchips tuner pt# 1725, it sells for $325. I am also looking at the one Reinhardt sells the SCCT 9100 (apparently it has been re-named the "X calibrator" Reinhardt sells it for $425.
Can anyone who has experience with these two tuners tell me the pro's and con's of the two. Is the SCCT worth the extra $100.
The Superchips tuner allows the owner/operator to change the parameters of the computer controlled functions ie. rev limiter, speed limiter, rear axle ratio ect. It appears the SCCT tuner is not that flexible, as it comes with three pre-programmed parameters that you cannot change unles you pay the extra $75 to get the patch cord from Reinhardt. Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to make an informed decision.
Thanks, GT

I don't know about the 1725, but the 9100 works for me. As I make changes, I can get new progamming from Denis or Lidio.

I also have the 9100 and one big advantage is that it keeps your stock program saved so that if you have to take it to the dealer you can reload the stock program. Which is especially helpfull if your dealer isn't mod friendly.

There have been some members who bought the 1725 and later upgraded and had to buy a 9100. Never heard of anybody getting the 9100 and then having to get another one. Many more parameters are adjustable with the 9100. The x-calibrator is not the same thing as the 9100, but is a new tuner that is smaller with essentially the same functions as the 9100.

I started out with the 1725 and was very happy with it. If you just want better tuning and the ability to tweek a few settings yourself it is a great way to go.

I upgraded to the 9100 when I had my car professionally dyno tuned. This got me a bit better performance. I lose the ability to tweak setting myself but I never did that anyway.

Here's my summary: If you have access to a good dyno tuner, get the 9100. Note that there is additional cost to get the custom tune. If you want simple out of the box performance, the 1725 works great.

Hope this helps,
jta

I have the 1725 , probably the best money I've ever spent on a car given the difference it made.

I would highly recommend it .
