Logan and All,
Our MAF is about 80mm & this is one of the air flow areas that we could improve on besides larger intake plates. How about switching ours with the Lightings ( 91-97mm? ) or the new 03 Cobra. We could change the MAF tube and keep the sensor as they screw in with 4 screws if the sensor has a program built in. Has any of you checked this out ???

Thanks,

Warren B. :P

I believe you use a new sensor and must get a chip programmed for the new MAF.

But would it mean anything like Mod=HP

Yes, absolutely. You can use the 90mm MAF from the 01+ Lightning and have Dennis recalibrate your chip to make use of it...

Most Lightning vendors sell MAF & Filter kits....

Whats it worth?

Not much to a Lightening owner, he's already got one.

MAF is about $100, the filter adapter $40 and a filter $40, so all in under $200

I believe the MAFs can also be calibrated to match your engines and don't require a chip change. I don't think any Ford MAFs can be calibrated but aftermarket ones can. You may not see any HP improvements. For Cobras, the bottleneck is in the intake. Therefore, changing throttlebodies and MAF on their own usually only gain very little. Cobras do seem to benefit some from cold air intakes though.

Your exactly right.
There are GREAT maf's that YOU can calibrate yourself.

We have had great sucess with this on the Mark VIII's for years.
