Im wondering what kind of internal mods any of you guys have done like ported heads and cams? Any blower guys running any blower grinds? Im looking at selling my Camaro that has become a all out drag car and just has become no fun anymore. Is the Trilogy kit the only roots blower offered on these cars? Anybody doing built trans on these cars? I work for Finish Line Performance in Naperville, IL and was just wanted to see what you guys had done to these cars. We mostly do Corvettes and Fbodies but we ocassionally do Mustangs and just wanted to see what our shop could do to one of these cars if I picked one up.

PhilYep. See Lidio's forum " Alternative Automotive" on this site. He's a sponsor. I've had mine built for nitrous, including forged internals, custom bullit cams and tranny build, but haven't added a blower yet. Been in communication with one very reputable outfit who's gonna get on a twin turbo system in Jan-Feb 2005. No further info yet.

As far as I know the Trilogy is the only roots type blower. Dennis Reinhart has a Vortec centrifugal type kit and is working on a Pro-Charger kit. I found a turbocharger kit here...

http://66.70.20.245/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=78

...but it's a single unit. However it's making similar RWHP numbers. If somebody would make a twin type kit with cast exhaust manifolds like the Gale Banks setup for those mouse motors, I'd get it. For now it's looking like the Vortec for me. First I gotta get some real brakes under the thing and I'm waiting for a KVR kit w/14" cross drilled front rotors, bigger calipers, matching rear rotors and stainless steel braided hoses all around. Check the vendors' forums. We even have a fake clutch pedal available! :D (see the 'dead pedal'. It's for the guys with small feet. :o )

Has anybody tried bolting up a 03-04 Cobra Kenne Bell blower? Besides the intake facing the opposite direction it should be pretty easy to do.

The boys in Atlanta just spent almost 7 months building a real MONSTER MARAUDER named "Hell Boy" Many threads to check out plus a link to a web site with tons of info:)
Just do a search

One of our guys did it. Install was a nightmare and he didn't recommend anyone else do it unless they are hightly skilled at such things (a great deal of fabrication required). I was always of the opinion that using an '03 lower intake with a custom machined billet upper intake could do the job, but you're still talking a lot of custom fabrication work. With the other choices we have for superchargers now, and more turbo options likely within the next year (beside the one that is already here), there should be ample choices for a kit.

Well we are a capable of burning chips for Fords, we are actually one of the few dealers in the area who does. Im trying to get us more into Mustangs and other Fords. We regularly make 600 to 750 rwhp LS1s on pump gas I figured we would see what we can do with DOHC motors. Hell Dan Bills our tuner has a low seven second Mustang he built himself and we almost never do Mustangs its just crazy.

Use my car please, go ahead I'll let you! I'm in Oak Park. Actually I have a Vortec kit just itching to go on. Just waiting on a couple of parts. Most of us have just bolted on the Vortec or Roots type blower and not gone into the engine. I'd love to have the Kenne Bell twin but based on my experience in the Vortec cars here in Chicago this car will be awesome enough.

Phil,

I am assuming you are with the same FLP group that makes some nice long tube headers and x-pipes for F-Bodies and Y-Bodies? I have a number of friends here in Iowa that have gone with your exhaust setups and have been quite happy with them.

From what I have read on here, there seems to be limited options for full aftermarket exhaust setups for the MM. I think that might be a good area to look at, too. Especially if you can make it on par with your LS1 exhausts.

Just a thought.

I think that was "effster"...he owns a machine shop so fabrication wasn't as big an issue for him, but I remember him saying it really wasn't a DIY project...also, it's not so much what form of power-adder you install, it's the tuning that makes all the difference.

Believe me I know that tuning is where its at. We regularly have 700+ rwhp cars running on pump gas we build here. Im just looking for something that will be alittle bit more streetable than my current ride. Plus I found a Marauder by my house for dirt cheap.

Roger, thanks RF! It was Effster, and he basically said that very thing to me when I contacted him and asked about it. It is not a DIY job. My understanding from Jim Bell is that Kenne Bell has no intention of developing any blower for the Marauder.....not enough market. These guys are so big now they don't "need" niche markets, which is all OK, since guys like Dennis and Jerry can fill the gap. Let 'em have their Mustangs, Cobras, 'Vettes, etc. We have unique vehicles, and I am glad to see something different.

So, once you get yourself familiar with it, how about writing us a prescription for what ails us, doc? I would like to hear some of your ideas...

I almost bought a set of FLP headers for my Z06. You guys are certainly reputable amongst the Corvette crowd.

If you guys get something going on Marauders I would love to hear about it. It would be great to have a reputable local tuner to work on my Marauder.
