Here it is Mac. I've mentioned a long time ago that the rear upper control arms on limos are nice, billet-looking aluminum control arms that you may be interested in trying. It was such a long time ago that you probably don't remember or joined afterward. Anyway, I'm only posting these pictures to show that you have another option for rear control arms. I'm not stating these arms are better than any other aftermarket rear UCAs. Enjoy.

Warpath,
Are you saying you found the FORD parts for our MMs? Limo Rear Control Arms, that is?
You only show one part nbr -- shouldn't there be 2 -- right side and left?
Are there Lower control arms as well?
And how about that Watts Linkage?
Where did you find the Limo Parts? Inquiring minds ....
Spill the beans!!!!!

Vey nice looking, but...

...there's those ugly rubber bushings! It's kinda like standing in line behind a blonde wearing a halter and short-shorts that has a great body and when she turns around you see an acne infested face surrounding a smiling mouth full of rotten teeth. Only this isn't something a paper bag with a picture of Pamela Anderson pasted on it can fix.

Yuck!

Do you have the part #(s) ?

*The 3W13-5501- appears to be a partial ( and therefore doesn't lend itself to a search at (say) FordParts.com ).

Thanks, Warpath, sure is some good looking upper arm. I took that part number back to my parts dude, and he said it changed to 3W1Z-5500-AA, a "limo conversion package." He also said top arms only. I suppose that if someone wanted to beef up the rear suspension just a bit without spending hundreds of dollars, this would be the way to go. Cost is 44 bucks each, and probably come with the busings in place as the MM control arms do. Sticking these up top might be a solution for the budget minded.

You know, I just remembers that is was Steve Babcock who stated that our suspension bits came from the Town Car limo...Guess we didn't get all of them, eh?

David, why so harsh on the rubber bushing?

Thanks for the 411 Warpath & Mac! Being che... frugal, I am going to see what my dealer wants to stick me up for for a pair - then check w/Ray.

How do they affect the pinion angle?

I am going to have my Macs Billet control arms installed when the 410 are done sometime next year.

Best Regards,

David

How do they affect the pinion angle? :confused:They'd better not affect it at all! If they do you'll wind up with a nasty propshaft u-joint phasing vibration.

Are you saying you found the FORD parts for our MMs? Limo Rear Control Arms, that is?

As Mac mentioned, they are the stock limo UCAs on limo vehicles shipped from the factory.

You only show one part nbr -- shouldn't there be 2 -- right side and left?

The parts are the same left and right - just like the MM. "OUT" is stamped on them so they are installed properly on either side. Stick the "OUT" side on the outboard side of the vehicle.

Are there Lower control arms as well?
And how about that Watts Linkage?

Lowers and Watts are the same across all Panthers.

Where did you find the Limo Parts? Inquiring minds ....
Spill the beans!!!!!

All I can say is that it is work related. I'll catch grief if I say more.

Do you have the part #(s) ?

Thanks Mac. I posted that picture mostly to show the Lincoln symbol. I didn't think about trying to use the part number. Sorry.

You know, I just remembers that is was Steve Babcock who stated that our suspension bits came from the Town Car limo...Guess we didn't get all of them, eh?

The only other unique suspension items on limos I think are front lower control arms, front springs, and shocks. MM gets the stock CV, GM, TC front lowers and its own front springs and shocks (to lower the front 1"). The shocks are tuned for MMs. I don't know about the stabilizer bars though. In a sense MMs get some limo parts since some parts are common on all Panthers.

How do they affect the pinion angle?

No change. They're the same length as the stock MM UCAs.

Ray - Are the a direct replacement, with no modifications? Thanks.

As far as I know, they should bolt right in.

With any luck they don't. Right?

Do a search for Zack's control arms!
A pinion angle change - if done properly - can enhance the handling characteristics!

The lowers are stamped steel and not aluminum.

The limo UCAs are direct replacement for stock MM UCAs. They will not change pinion angle. I believe the bushings are somewhat stiffer than stock MM bushings. They are rubber and not urathane (sp?).

The lowers are stamped steel and not aluminum. Are those lower control arms specifically designed for the limo package or could they be the same ones used in the Police Interceptor?

Thanks.

The lowers are the same for every Panther vehicle (MM, T/C, C/V, & G/M).
